Yesterday was the final day of London Fashion Week for yet another season; talk about time flying when you’re having fun! The designers showcasing their autumn/winter 2014 collections in the Capital City didn’t give fashionistas time to relax though,  as the shows were just as lively and attention-grabbing as ever! Zoe Jordan, Osman, Meadham Kirchhoff and Simone Rocha helped us say goodbye to another season of London Fashion Week in style; they certainly went out with a bang!

Zoe Jordan AW14

We wouldn’t miss a Zoe Jordan LFW catwalk show or presentation. As a Young British Designer, her collections are what make London Fashion Week what it is; London stands out from the rest of the cities as we get behind exciting, young talent every season, and Zoe Jordan is living proof of that. The designer presented a Formula 1 influenced collection this season – we did wonder when she would use her Formula 1 team boss dad Eddie as inspiration – something the white tyres stacked in the windows definitely gave away even before we saw the collection.

With garments that would feel right at home on the bodies of motorsport fans and participants alike, Zoe Jordan presented a definitive Chicane sports luxe collection by way of a fabulous and well-thought-out presentation. We love a well staged show but presentations let you get up close and personal with the pieces, which is something we definitely appreciated with this collection as it helped us appreciate every intricate little detail. Quilted leathers and simple sporting basics were in abundance to make up a boyish, elegant collection; make-up was kept minimal but fresh to correspond with and complement the sporty aesthetic of the clothes. Another winner from a LFW fave!

Simone Rocha AW14

Simone Rocha once again proved that innovative style runs in the family as she presented yet another stunning autumn/winter 2014 collection. Bold reds and yellows pretty much dominated the catwalk as far as colour palette was concerned, but there were no stand-out themes in terms of silhouette, pattern, or texture, as the designer dabbled in everything on this occasion. Embellishment, snakeskin, tartan print and so much more in-between; a versatile yet wonderfully wearable collection!

Meadham Kirchhoff AW14

Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff gave us a little bit of everything this autumn/winter 2014 season. There were certain Meadham Kirchhoff elements that we come to expect from the duo every season that we found in the show, such as their reference to glam rock and grunge! And David Bowie is pretty much glam rock personified, which is why it came as no surprise to see the models walk down the catwalk to his Speed of Life song from the seventies.

It wasn’t just glam rock references throughout the collection though – although the rainbow platforms were one of our highlights – as things got a lot more historical. Juxtaposed with the disco inspired pieces were garments that wouldn’t be out of place in a high society 1930s household – ladylike boucle, lace gowns, skirt suits, and even some interesting takes on the classic sailor suit!

Osman AW14

Fun, flirty, fresh, asymmetric, eclectic and even a little bit electric – all of these are words to describe Osman’s autumn/winter 2014 offering.

Burberry told us it was all about the scarf this season – it didn’t tell us subtly, it practically shouted it from the rooftops – and it looks like Osman had the same idea too, as the majority of his models strutted down the catwalk with gorgeous scarves adorning their necks. Think chic and outfit-complementary  as opposed to blanket-like. Layering was also a big thing on the Osman runway, as was mesh, bright colour, embellishments, and er… hands.

Yes, we really did say hands! Images of hands (and hands holding bags and wearing jewellery – stay with us!) found themselves on everything from skirts to jumpers to all else-inbetween. And yes, some of the models’ real hands were also carrying bags, just in case you thought it was a handy (geddit?) substitution.
