If the cold weather’s leaving your feet a little frozen, let us warm your toes with what Rupert Sanderson’s got in store for spring – there’s enough revamped classics and cool contemporary shapes to keep you cosy all season.

Classic Sanderson styles have been given tweaks and twists for spring – courts come in new colours, signature details have been reworked across styles and a whole plethora of new fabrics have been played with to give a fresh feeling.

If minimalism’s your thing, you’ll love the Seville, a classic patent court in blush, the Gusto, a gladiator platform with thorn-shaped straps and Napper, a nude patent mid-heel pump. For something more delicate, look for the Figaro – Rupert’s favourite of the collection – a sleek sandal with dainty butterfly-like strap shapes leading into a spring-appropriate slingback.

But more exciting than that, for us, is Sanderson’s fashion-forward creations. Enter an all-new heel height (140mm – his highest yet) seen on the Lightning platform – probably our favourite design featuring symmetric silver leather lightening bolts across blue suede – and the Hydra, a black-aqua-orange double platform peeptoe. 1970s glam-rock incarnate.

There’s colour blocking a-plenty – particularly spectacular on python skins – and prints, as well as buckle details, removable fringing and experimental zig-zag stitching, which works better joining two materials than it does as a stand-alone feature, but is an interesting detail nonetheless.

And finishing off there’s flats – sweet strap sandals in metallics, suede pumps in bright colours and a darling peep toe pump in black suede with orange and aqua accents that’s sitting at the top of our wishlist.

Our favourite Rupert Sanderson collection to date.
