Powerhouses in their respective fields, but this week’s fash off women unite in the fashion world.

Alicia Keys and Victoria Beckham both sported the same military-inspired dress from VB’s Fall 2012 collection, albeit a few months apart. And once again we’re left with the impossible task of selecting a stylish winner from between the two stunners!

First up was the maker of the dress herself (natch), Victoria Beckham, who wore said dress to the Spice Girls’ Viva Forever press conference back in June, held at the iconic St. Pancras Renaissance London Hotel, where the former band’s video ‘Wannabe’ was shot. Sticking firmly with her signature look and pose, Mrs. Becks styled her creation with a leather belt, knee high, peep-toe Tom Ford boots, a mussed up low ponytail and a missing smile, (we do love you VB, but please smile!).

Giving the dress a fresh lease of life was top crooner Alicia Keys, who wore it to the launch of interactive storytelling app ‘The Journals of Mama Mae & LeeLee’ held in New York City. Sporting a cute side swept bob cut; fresh faced Alicia styled the VB dress, sans leather belt, with silver toe-cap pumps and a slick of pink colour on her lips.

A Victoria Beckham design always spells near perfection, and both Alicia and the VB looked amazing in their own ways. But come on, who doesn’t love a fresh take on a cult classic? It nearly always excites us to see celebs in a VB creation just to see their take on styling it, and this time Alicia firmly secures our fash off vote!

Alicia’s belt-free, curve-skimming version gives the dress an almost demure, 50s appeal, and we’re definitely curve champions! The military trend can be a little too strong if translated literally, and that‘s what we find with VB’s rigid pose and odd choice of shoes for summer (leather boots in June?).

Alicia bagged this one, hitting all the right style Keys (pun intended) with her fresh take on all things military!
