Gisele Bundchen replaces Kate Moss as the face of Stuart Weitzman

Is it just us, or is Gisele Bundchen everywhere at the moment? We know that as the highest paid supermodel in the world we are bound to see her flawless face and body crop up everywhere, but we think we are seeing more of her than usual these days. Not that that’s a bad thing of course; it could never be a bad thing. And to prove it, we’re going to show you her brand spanking new ad campaign for Stuart Weitzman. Yep, Kate Moss and her long stems have been replaced by Gisele Bundchen (click here to see what a cracking job our Kate did though) and akin to Kate, has made us lust after the very dreamy Stuart Weitzman footwear. We wouldn’t mind her legs either, but that’s a different matter altogether. “With her lithe physique, bronzed skin and tousled golden locks, Gisele personifies the confidence, empowerment, beauty and ease women feel the moment they slip into their Stuart Weitzman shoes,” the designer said of the Brazilian beauty. Gisele was shot by the one and only Mario Testino, and is ensuring that all attention remains on the shoes by removing anything that might prove a distraction. I.e. clothes. What do you think of the ad campaign? Is she a good replacement? [Huffington Post]

WATCH Gisele’s Chanel No 5 ad in full!

It’s here! The highly anticipated Gisele Bundchen for Chanel No 5 ad campaign video is finally here – and boy was it worth the wait! We told you a few months ago that the Brazilian supermodel would be the new face of the iconic fragrance, and apart from a cheeky teaser pic of her in surf gear that was released last week, details of the campaign have been kept pretty hush hush. Until now, of course. Akin to the memorable Chanel No 5 ad featuring Nicole Kidman, this ad was shot by director Baz Luhrmann – and is everything we ever dreamed it would be. Maybe even that little bit more. Lo-Fang’s rendition of You’re the One That I Want plays in the background, while Gisele goes about her day which consists of spending time with her child, jet-setting around the world, posing for the French fashion House in question, going for a quick surf, and of course, falling in love with Game of Thrones hunk Michiel Huisman. As you do. The more we watch the video – and yes, we have watched it more than once – the more perfect we think the casting has been. And we aren’t the only ones to think so… It’s amazing how she can use her body and convey sensuality or strength,” Baz Luhrmann said. “Gisele’s an aspirational image of a woman who’s perhaps almost impossible to be. You aspire to her, that’s the idea. Gisele herself from my experience is extremely down to earth, very funny, very forthright, very intelligent and a very forward moving, powerful woman.” Very fitting words, indeed. Waste no more time and hit that play button below… enjoy!

Sneak peek at Gisele for Chanel No.5

We told you a few months ago that one of the most iconic supermodels of our time would be posing for one of the most iconic fragrances in the world – a match made in heaven – and now we have a very sneaky peek of Gisele Bundchen for Chanel No.5 to share with you. How exciting! The Brazilian beauty treated her fans to a pic of her on the set of the ad campaign as she posted it to her Instagram account with the caption, “So excited to introduce a behind the scene picture of my next campaign for @chanelofficial. #chaneln5 #theonethatiwant”. Hawk-eyed readers may have noticed that the surfboard Gisele is carrying isn’t your ordinary surfboard, oh no. It is in actual fact Chanel’s very own surfboard – the very same one that Beyonce posed with for CR Fashion Book. It was going to take someone special to upstage Brad Pitt’s ad, but we think Gisele in surfer gear with beach waves in hair may very well do the trick. We can’t wait to see the ad campaign in full – we predict it’s going to be spectacular!

Gisele earns a cool £74,000 a day!

There’s no denying that Gisele stole the show during the World Cup final. Looking nothing short of perfection, it seems the supermodel is as brainy as she is beautiful. According to Forbes, Gisele rakes in £74,000 a day! Yes a day! This makes her the highest earning model for the seventh year in a row….in the past 12 months alone she’s earned £27m all from lucrative projects. Her total net worth? Well this is a bit of a mystery as naturally Gisele is a tad private when it comes to her finances. According to Forbes Gisele’s earned $386 million over the course of her career. According to Gisele?… ‘I do OK, I earn plenty, but not as much as they say. I’ve already been audited by the IRS because of this list and, truthfully, whether I’m on this list or not doesn’t interest me.

Gisele rocks a buzz cut for Balenciaga autumn/winter 2014 ads

Former Balenciaga creative director Nicolas Ghesquière has already made his mark on Louis Vuitton – the proof is in the latest LV ad campaign images – but it looks like his Balenciaga successor is also making a name for himself in his new role too. Alexander Wang is keen to make the Balenciaga label his own, and we can already see his dark simplicity shining through – even more so now that the autumn/winter 2014 ad campaign images have been released. Alexander Wang has given the one and only Miss Gisele Bundchen the honours of starring in his Balenciaga campaign, but not just any old Gisele, mind – a Gisele with a buzz cut! Gisele wannabes should put the shears down though, as the Brazilian supermodel didn’t actually chop all her hair off. The look was actually achieved using a good old bald cap and a body double… “For every picture we took with Gisele, we had to take another picture with the body double. Then we fused the two together,” Alexander Wang explained. “We had to wrap the hair very, very flat to hear head, put the bald cap on, and then paint the bald cap to the exact same skin colour as Gisele. It was basically like putting her into what you usually see on sets like X-Men. “Every time we shot the picture it was kind of crazy because it was always just shooting her with the bald cap on and then having to visualise a bald Gisele”. Wow! Sounds like a lot of work, but the results make it totally worth it! What do you guys think?

Gisele will present World Cup trophy to the winners!

Now footballers will have yet another reason to strive to win the World Cup, as it’s just been revealed that the gorgeous Gisele Bundchen – one of Brazil’s finest models – will be presenting the trophy to the champions. The trophy was originally going to be presented by Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff, but he decided to give it a miss since he’s been the target of abusive chants thanks to the huge expenses incurred from organising the World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Game. Yikes! Football really is turning into quite the fashionable affair, as we told you just yesterday that the coveted trophy case was once again custom made by Louis Vuitton. Gisele will hand over the World Cup trophy to the winners at the Maracana Mário Filho Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on July 13th, where she’ll also be joined by Avicii, Carlos Santana and Wyclef, who will be performing. Sounds pretty exciting – we can’t wait for that day to get here, and not just because it means we can regain control of the TV remote…

Gisele is the new face of Chanel No.5

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West aren’t the only ones we need to say congratulations to this morning – Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen also deserves a hearty congrats too, as it’s just been announced that she is the new face of the iconic and timeless fragrance Chanel No.5. Gisele will be working with Baz Luhrmann for the ad campaign, so we’re pretty excited to see what the pair come out with. The last time the Great Gatsby director worked on a Chanel No.5 advert was with Nicole Kidman back in 2004 (exactly 10 years ago – doesn’t that make you feel old?), and we all know how incredible that ad was! Akin to Nicole, we expect to see Gisele rocking some of the finest Chanel creations for her video and print campaigns and since there’s no shortage of intricate Chanel piece to choose from, we are confident she’s going to blow us away. The ad is slated for release later this year so watch this space!  [Grazia]

Hear Gisele sing Blondie’s ‘Heart of Glass’ in full H&M ad!

It’s finally here! We told you earlier this month that supermodel extraordinaire Gisele Bundchen would not only be posing for the brand spanking new H&M ad campaign, but will also be singing in the accompanying video too… and now it’s time to take a look at the ad in all its glory! Gisele can be heard singing the Blondie classic, Heart of Glass, and although there is only one Debbie Harry in the world, we reckon Gisele has actually done a pretty good job of it. Gisele and Blondie fans alike should be pretty happy with it! The ad campaign will feature in stores and on hm.com from May 1st, but you can download the song from iTunes from today. All the royalties from the sale of the single will be going to UNICEF. Click here to watch the video in full. What do you think of the ad campaign? [ABC]

Gisele slips into her white bikini for new H&M ads, sings Blondie

Gorgeous Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen is back for H&M, showcasing her flawless and enviable bronzed body in some new-season pieces of swimwear. The new H&M ad campaigns were shot in Costa Rica (jealous,  much?) and have a serious nod to bohemian seventies glamour! As well as showing off her incredible body and H&M’s finest new pieces, Gisele also treats us to her very own rendition of Blondie’s Heart of Glass, produced by the very talented French music producer and DJ Bob Sinclar. “I never in a million years thought that I would record a song and to work with a producer like Bob,” Gisele said. We know that Gisele has a pretty sweet voice too, thanks to her rendition of the popular Kinks song All Day and All of the Night which she recorded last year. The song will be available to download from May, with all of the proceeds going to UNICEF to help vulnerable children. The print and outdoor campaign will also break in May; we can’t wait! [WWD]

Gisele is Forbes highest paid supermodel for 7th year running

No prizes for guessing who the highest paid supermodel in the world is… Gisele Bundchen has once again found herself at the top of the Forbes list of highest earning supermodels for an impressive seventh consecutive year. She definitely puts the super in supermodel! Thanks to her deals with the likes of H&M, David Yurman, Chanel, Pantene and her own lingerie line, she has pocketed an impressive £27 million which means runner-up Miranda Kerr – who is worth an estimated £4.6 million – has a long way to go if she’s going to catch up with her. So who else made the Top 10 list, you ask? Adriana Lima came a very respectable third, while our very own Kate Moss, Liu Wen and Hilary Rhoda landed the respective 4th, 5th and 6th spots. The last four places went to Carolyn Murphy, Joan Smalls, Candice Swanepoel and Lara Stone. Alessandra Ambrosio and Doutzen Kroes slipped off the list this year, but Forbes predicts that they will be back with a vengeance next year; and apparently we shouldn’t be surprised if they are joined by Karlie Kloss and Kate Upton too. Watch this space! [Forbes]

Gisele is the new face of H&M

Beyonce isn’t the only famous face to front an H&M ad campaign this year. 32-year-old Brazilian supermodel Gisele will once again be posing for the Swedish retailer – her latest stint was back in 2011 in case you forgot – as she was spotted out and about shooting for the new autumn/winter 2013 ad campaigns in London. Welcome back, Gisele. We’ve missed you! What do you think of the sneaky behind-the-scenes pic above? Gisele was spotted wearing some slim-fit khaki-coloured trousers, teamed with a casual, slouchy white blouse, some fierce leather ankle boots with a chunky heel, and even a chauffer hat in some of the other pictures that have surfaced. Interesting stuff! Looks like we’re going to love the pieces H&M will be offering us this autumn/winter season. We can’t wait to see more – stay tuned! [Daily Mail]

Gisele Bündchen: the last of the supermodels?

Some people are so well known that their name is reduced to just a word. Blake, Alexa, Posh and Naomi are all girls that need no surname to be recognised, and when it comes to the modelling, there’s Gisele. Ah yes, synonymous with impossibly long bronzed legs, Brazilian curves and that smile. But apart from being Mrs Tom Brady, new supermum – you’ll remember the scandal over her ‘breastfeeding should be law’ comments – and businesswoman extraordinaire, let’s not forget her roots. Named by none other than Naomi Campbell as the last supermodel, and after topping the Forbes Supermodel Rich List again, we chart the model highs and meteoric rise of Gisele Bündchen… Born to German-Brazilian parents in 1980, like all good supermodels her talent was spotted young, and in a McDonalds, of all places (anyone else ever seen a model scout when grabbing a burger?). At just 14 and already nearly six feet tall, Gisele began a career that would see her secure three consecutive Vogue covers by the age of 19. The real money maker for her modelling career, however, was a five year contract with Victoria’s Secret that would send her fame stellar. It was here she perfected the horse-walk – that stompy, legs lifted high strut with which she walks the catwalk. While her modelling work brought fortune and the coveted title of Leo DiCaprio’s girlfriend, Gisele has never rested on her looks. Sure, representing luxury brands including Dior, Louis Vuitton and, bizarrely enough, Apple, earned her up to $33m a year, but her other ventures include charity stints and philanthropic work (she was honoured at this year’s Global Environment Citizen Awards, in fact). But what is it that makes her so special? Her selling power, in a nutshell. Gisele’s ability to shift products from the […]

Gisele wears Victoria Beckham (and VB’s a little excited)

Fewer things give you a better seal of approval as a designer than critical acclaim and having the world’s most successful supermodels wearing your pieces. Luckily for Victoria Beckham, she now has both. Last Friday, Gisele Bundchen wore a Victoria Beckham dress to the 2011 Global Environment Citizen Awards, which honoured the super for her humanitarian work, in New York – and Victoria was the first to announce her approval. “Hello fashion bunnies!!!how beautiful does Gisele look in #VictoriaBeckham !!!!! A dream come true for me!!!! X vb,” she tweeted. The designer later uploaded a picture of Gisele in the dress, accompanied with “Wow!!! X vb”. From the amount of exclamation marks, we assume Victoria was pretty excited. And we get it, we’d be pretty excited if Gisele – aka the-girl-too-beautiful-to-actually-be-a-human – wore one of our dresses too (especially given that we’re not designers, but we digress). She looked surprisingly chic in VB’s signature black pencil dress; a more demure style than we’re used to seeing from Bundchen – no legs, no splits, no figure-flaunting – but it’s lacking excitement, even if it is fitting for the occasion. What do you make of Gisele in Victoria Beckham: is it a hit or a miss? [poll id=”106″]

Lebron James and Gisele Bündchen do US Vogue

The latest issue of US Vogue has hit newsstands and as we suspected it’s generating quite a buzz. For reasons unknown to us, editor, Anna Wintour opted to break Vogue’s unwritten rules for its annual shape issue and have not one but two models grace the cover, one of them being a man and a black man at that. Shot by Annie Lebowitz, professional Basketball player strikes a pose with supermodel Gisele Bündchen, wearing Calvin Klein. Its the third time we’ve been treated to a male figure on the cover of Vogue, Richard Gere had the privilege of being the first in Nov 1992, posing alongside his then wife Cindy Crawford and George Clooney did the honours in June 2000 with none other than Gisele…again. What do we think? Unfortunately Gisele’s pose looks uncomfortable and unnatural, otherwise it could have been a great cover.

SS15 highlights from Chanel, Valentino, Louis Vuitton and more

Feminism is without a doubt, the word of the month. First we had Emma Watson’s moving UN speech where she announced the launch of her HeForShe initiative, and now Karl Lagerfeld presents an equal rights protest for the Chanel spring/summer 2015 collection for Paris Fashion Week. Some of the hottest and most in-demand models such as Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner, Gisele Bundchen, Joan Smalls and Georgia May Jagger, among many others, joined the Chanel Revolution and held up signs with powerful messages on the catwalk – all while dressed in the finest and newest Chanel attire, of course! Elsewhere in Paris, Valentino presented a typically beautiful collection which was inspired by Italy through the eyes of a traveller. Meanwhile, Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton was influenced by all things Japanese for her latest catwalk outing, sending her models out in erotic and exotic garments with sharp shoulders, bold hand-cut floral detailing, and more oversized floral print than you can shake a stick at. And finally, Louis Vuitton ended Fashion Month with a stunning show presented by Nicolas Ghesquière, with the soundtrack from Close Encounters of the Third Kind playing as the lucky guests took their seats. We saw an abundance of lust-worthy leather goods and accessories – no surprises there – make their debut, and although Nicolas Ghesquière took a lot of risks by introducing new ideas, the aesthetic of the iconic French fashion House remained the same. Check out all of our highlights from the latest Paris Fashion Week shenanigans right here: Chanel Louis Vuitton Alexander McQueen Valentino

Forbes names highest earning male model!

Here’s a bit of reverse sexism this morning… In a world where men are traditionally paid more than women for the very same job, it’s quite refreshing to know that it’s the total opposite in the modelling world. Sean O’Pry, the Atlanta-born hottie above who has modelled for the likes of Viktor and Rolf, Giorgio Armani, and Versace among other big brands, has been named as the highest earning male model in the world. (Our very own Brit David Gandy secured the second spot – something we feel he should be very proud of!) Sean’s earnings for the past year amounted to $1.4 million – a pretty impressive sum we think you’ll agree. However, it’s quite miniscule when compared to the whopping $42 million Gisele Bundchen – the highest paid female model – earns. Do we think male models should make the same as their female counterparts? [Forbes]

Kate Upton lands David Yurman AW13 ad campaign

David Yurman went classic for its autumn/winter 2012 ad campaign. There’s no better word to describe the campaign star Gisele Bundchen. But fast forward one year and the concept couldn’t be more different. The newest autumn/winter 2013 ad campaign is out with the old and in with the new, as Gisele has been replaced by Kate Upton, the girl who is having a serious fashion moment this year! The former Sports Illustrated model was photographed by Peter Lindbergh, and can be seen writhing on a beach showcasing the stunning new-season jewellery that’s sitting pretty on her wrists. The second image is a lot more stripped back – but no less gorgeous. We knew the ad campaign offers would start rolling in as soon as she got Anna Wintour’s coveted seal of approval. We wonder what Kate’s next move will be… any guesses?

H&M brings models back for AW13 ad campaign

H&M has worked with some pretty big names these past couple of years. Lana Del Rey and Beyonce, anyone? And let’s not forget that Gisele Bundchen herself recently shot an ad campaign for the Swedish retailer… So, despite all these mega-large names lending their faces and bodies to the brand, it’s nice to know that H&M can go back to basics too. For its latest autumn/winter 2013 ad campaign, H&M has gone back to the models, as it has enlisted the help of top models Isabeli Fontana, Frida Gustavsson, Cora Emmanuel and Edita Vilkeviciute to showcase its newest threads. The girls are fully kitted out in their H&M gear on what looks like a fun night out for the first ad campaign image that’s been released. Whether they’re wrapping up warm and keeping out the chill or getting dolled up to head to a fun and glam cocktail bar, H&M seems to have sorted them right out with a host of fabulous affordable pieces to boot. We love it!

Fashion musical chairs: The Wang-Balenciaga brouhaha

Describing himself as “determined, hard working and energetic” in an interview with Asia Tatler, Alexander Wang should’ve added “pro at creating a buzz (iness)” to that list. And determination twinned with the entire fash packs energy is what it has taken to understand the rapidly evolving game of fashion house musical chairs that has played out this year. Dior became the new home of Raf Simons. Jil was back at Sander. Hedi skinny trouser hopped to Yves Saint Laurent. Stefano Pilati adopted a new baby called Ermenegildo Zegna, and, the most hyped about creative transfer at the tail end of 2012: Alexander Wang filling Nicolas Ghesquière’s rather large shoes. The Chinese-American designer is the darling of New York Fashion Week, and has perfected his art of not just designing, but entrepreneur-ing (there, we invented a whole new word) in a competitive, and, often repetitive industry. Much like DJ Sliink’s ‘Putcha Ya Back Into It’, the soundtrack to his SS’13 runway show, Wang has also been putting in back breaking effort to land the top job at one of Europe’s most revered fashion houses. Taking over from Ghesquière’s 15-year tenure at the fashion house that balances history with modernity to perfection, both 28-year old Wang’s age and design aesthetic have been flung into the not-so-positive limelight. The design house shuffle will see Wang take over as creative director at Balenciaga, but continue to design for his eponymous, privately-controlled label that has amassed approximately $60 million in sales. Let’s not forget that this long-haired, super-successful man is only 28 and presented his first ready-to-wear collection to the blinded-by-the-commercial-fog eyes of New York’s fashion scene in 2007. Wang is an astute businessman and a fantastic designer, doing what he does very well. He didn’t appear on the scene professing a new design legacy or with […]
