Kristen Bell is Worst Dressed of the Week in Sachin + Babi

Another week, another outfit that amazes us for all the wrong reasons, of course! Seems Kristen Bell’s stylist needs a lesson or two in the art of mastering oversize dressing, because the job on Kristen hasn’t worked! Sporting a Sachin + Babi matching A-line skirt and top ensemble to the ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ Expansion Pack Mobile Game Launch earlier this week, Kristen appeared a little, well, swallowed up. The look from the spring 2014 collection did no favours for Kristen’s petite frame, as both the floaty skirt and boxy top battled it out for body-swamping attention. We love the striking, scattered print and the electric blue clutch and suede ASOS heels, not forgetting Kristen’s sleek locks and soft make-up. But that outfit just isn’t doing anything to please our fashion hungry peepers. If the top was worn with skinny leather trousers and pointed courts, our opinion would probably be different. Or, if the pretty skirt was worn with a fitted black bustier top, and styled with the same accessories as this look, we’d certainly be swayed. But, in its current guise, this look is going in the never-repeat-again pile, pronto! What are your thoughts on Kristen’s Sachin + Babi look? [Image]

Kristen Bell gets an icy reception in Zuhair Murad

Wow, so Kristen Bell is going to be in the new series of Dancing on Ice? What’s that? She’s wearing this figure skater getup for a television premiere! No your eyes are not deceiving you. Yes that is Kristen Bell on the red carpet in what looks like an ice skating costume. Whatever possessed the poor love to opt for this embellished Zuhair Murad mini dress is beyond us. To a party you might just get away with it but it just looks wrong at a premiere. From the semi-sheer long sleeves to the frilled out skirt, we are just not feeling it. Having said that, her sweet two-tone Louboutins, cascading blonde waves and glowing make-up are all top notch. Perhaps we can forgive you this time Kristen. However, if you turn up to an event dressed as Jayne Torvill again, we will be forced to give you a unanimous nul points!

Kristen Bell in Brian Reyes

Currently travelling far and wide to promote her latest saucy role in the eagerly anticipated film Burlesque, American actress Kristen Bell wowed onlookers in Berlin on Friday in an eye catching Brian Reyes mini number. Not one to be outshone by fellow co-star Christina Aguilera, Ms. Bell chose a colour popping blue and purple digi-print micro dress for the special occasion, and if that didn’t guarantee all eyes were on her, the racy plunging neckline certainly did the job! Teaming her look with a pair of black Salvatore Ferragamo pumps, Kristen finishes off her bold and colourful outfit to contrasting perfection, reaffirming our belief that the girl’s definitely got style! Another reason why we can’t wait to see this box office smash…

bella swan wedding dress alfred angelo carolina herrera

SEE Bella Swan’s Carolina Herrera wedding dress in full (and how you can get your own identical copy!)

If, like us, you were one of the millions of people who went to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 this weekend, you will have seen Bella Swan’s highly anticipated Carolina Herrera wedding dress with your own eyes. If you wish to remain surprised when you eventually watch the film, look away now. For all the curious cats and eager Twi-hards, feel free to read on. While we won’t be showing you a picture of Bella in the dress (you really need to see it in the cinema first-hand!) we have a young model wearing the replica that you can get your hands on right now courtesy of Alfred Angelo – and they truly meant it when they said the dress would be almost identical. As promised, the masterminds behind the Disney Princess-inspired wedding gowns created a carbon copy of the dress with original designer Carolina Herrera, and it can be yours for just $799. To our untrained eyes (we’ve only seen the film once so far) we can’t see any noticeable differences between the real and the steal, which means Alfred Angelo and Carolina Herrera did a fine job of working together to stay true to their word to give the fans what they want. Twi-hards may want to sink their teeth (get it?) into Kristen Stewart’s dress, but would you? [Styleite]

The Critics Choice Movie Awards 2014: The best dressed!

It was another big night for the stars of the silver screen last night, as they walked the red carpet for the 19th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held in Santa Monica. Although it wasn’t as big an event as Sunday night’s Golden Globes, and a few of our faves were noticeably absent (where were you, Jennifer Lawrence? Sad face!) the attendees still pulled out all the stops and wowed us with their red carpet sartorial choices. Lupita Nyong’o once again stole the show for us, this time opting to wear a white Calvin Klein Collection dress for the occasion. We know we’ve been going on about her all week, but we think our obsession is justified. And it doesn’t look like we are the only ones to love her, as she picked up the Critics Choice Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave. Amy Adams is another lady we are watching with hawk eyes during this awards season, as she once again blew us away in a bold coloured frock; this time it was a gorgeous pink Roland Mouret dress! Take a look at our best dressed ladies on the red carpet and let us know who your favourite is. Lupita Nyong’o in Calvin Klein Collection Amy Adams in Roland Mouret Jessica Chastain in Nina Ricci Cate Blanchett in Lanvin Margot Robbie in Elie Saab Sandra Bullock in Lanvin Aisha Tyler in Tadashi Shoji Camila Alves in Paula Ka Kristen Bell in Pamella Roland

Golden Globes 2010: the dresses

So, in case you hadn’t heard, it RAINED at the Golden Globes and, hold the phone , some A listers even held their own umbrellas. Now, as big as that news was , we were more concerned with the award winners, Ricky Gervais’ presenting job and of course, the dresses. See below for a pick of red carpet hits – alongside the occasional miss… Olivia Wilde – Gucci The House star and former OC actress went for the glamour vamp look for the red carpet, noting that her Gucci gown would be sold off at auction. Proceeds will be going towards the support efforts in Haiti. Julianne Moore – Balenciaga We love Julianne Moore but this Balenciaga gown just doesn’t seem to sit right and has ended up looking a little unflattering. Still, she got to spend the night with Tom Ford as her date so she gets extra fashion credit for that one! January Jones – Lanvin It might be black but there is nothing boring about the Mad Men star’s full length Lanvin ensemble. The actress added a bit of prom night glamour with a matching satin headband and Brian Atwood platforms. Jennifer Morrison – Luis Antonio Major congratulations to Jennifer Morrison who has nabbed a boyfriend that can go out and do her clothes shopping, successfully. The House star proudly told the red carpet that she received this textured number from Puerto Rican designer, Luis Antonio for Christmas. We bet she was one of a few wearing something from their own wardrobe! Kristen Bell – Jasmine di Milo We can’t understand why Kristen Bell told the world she wore a shorter dress to the ceremony because she needed to ‘to be able to move like a tiger’ but we’ll let it pass because this Jasmine di Milo […]

Rocking The Glam Goth Style

The Gothic outfits people are wearing nowadays are quite different from the ones worn in the past. Back in the ‘70s people were looking like vampires when they rocked this style, but now they look like having a unique fashion sense. Nowadays it is something normal people to prefer black, when it comes to clothing articles. The glam gothic style is a little different from the traditional gothic one, because it combines two different styles, the gothic and the glamorous one. People who prefer this style include in their outfits bright colours not only dark hues, and they even combine gothic elements with androgynous ones. The main fashion icons of this style are Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese. But they are not the only ones who inspired people to try this style, other celebrities also preferred to     sport unique outfits. Dita Von Teese It is important to start with Dita Von Teese, because she is the fashion icon women around the world still admire, and she is the source of inspiration for millions of women. She is famous for her black curled hair. However the curls are not traditional ones but glam curls, that combined with red lipstick and gothic outfits help her impress everyone wherever she goes. She was and she still is considered one of the sexiest women on Earth, and we think that many years from how she will be seen like one of the most beautiful women of the world, because she seems to not get old, as the years pass. Her glam curls are her trademark, but it does not mean that you cannot achieve the same look. You only need a little practice, quality GHD curlers and some hairspray. Angelina Jolie Angie is also considered one of the most beautiful women on the […]

Lily Collins compares London and LA in Glamour UK September issue

Aw well if it isn’t Lily Collins posing up one almighty storm on the cover of Glamour UK’s September 2013 issue! Lily is no stranger to gracing the cover of the magazine, as she posed for the US version of the mag just a few months ago. Click here to refresh your memories and heck the shoot out in all its glory. This time around, Lily opens up about a host of different subjects, from her Hollywood crushes, to lunching with Kristen Stewart, to her The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones co-star and boyfriend Jamie Campbell, and more. We especially loved her comparisons between life in London and Los Angeles… “People always ask if I feel more American or British,” she began. “The truth is that I love the way of life, the humour and the fashion in Europe. I love the tea and the food. I feel at home when I’m back here: I feel like little Lily again. “I love the casual, comfortable chic of LA. But at the same time I get to dress up a lot more when I’m in London. There’s this funky, fresh, young vibe there and people can be very chic in either a very put-together way or a grunge way. People are who they are and I like that.” We like that too, Lil. You can read the rest of Lily’s interview and see more pics from her editorial shoot in the September issue of Glamour UK – out now!

The 26th Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards: The best dressed!

Admit it, there’s a little Awards Season hole in your heart, isn’t there? Don’t be shy, we feel the same way, but luckily the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards have stepped in to save the day and fill the void. The Kids Choice red carpet is probably one of the most laid back, fun events that the movie, TV and music stars of Hollywood get to enjoy, and this is no doubt reflected in their sartorial choices. Pins were out in force, as the stars put on their shortest mini dresses and jumpsuits for the occasion. Kristen Stewart looked stunning in a blue Osman jumpsuit (she even managed a smile while posing for pics, so we’re guessing she knew how hot she looked!) while Selena Gomez made Oscar de la Renta casually cool by teaming his intricate top with some off-duty white shorts. Other schlebs on our best-dressed list include Ashley Tisdale, Victoria Justice and Katy Perry… check out the full list below and tell us who got your vote! Selena Gomez in Oscar de la Renta Jessica Alba in Mary Katrantzou Kristen Stewart in Osman Ashley Tisdale in Rafael Cennamo   Victoria Justice in Pia Pauro  Katy Perry in Hervé Léger By Max Azria Miranda Cosgrove in Stella McCartney Bella Thorne in Bec & Bridge Fergie in Mary Katrantzou Debby Ryan in Topshop  [poll id= “396”]

Five Minutes With Designer Marios Schwab

Yesterday we showed you all eight gorgeous looks from the highly anticipated Marios Schwab for Debenhams Edition collection, and as promised, it’s now time to treat you to the interview we conducted with the main man himself. We managed to peel Marios away from the launch of the collection for five minutes, and asked him to talk us through the range in his very own words. We also asked him about his muses for the collection and what his absolute favourite dress was… he even divulged some interesting and unmissable styling advice! So without further ado, we present you with five minutes with the legend that is Mr Marios Schwab. Enjoy! Tell us, how did this amazing collaboration come about and why did you want to go ahead with it? Well I’ve been asked from Debenhams to do a capsule collection of signature key looks that are an interpretation of the Marios Schwab brand, and it was interesting to meet a completely different customer and adapt signature key pieces from the signature of the brand. I certainly want to make people dream when they wear my stuff and feel enhanced and elevated because that’s what fashion should be about; it should feel like you’re living a true fantasy. What’s the typical customer for the collection? It’s for somebody who is quite specific; the customer is very fashion conscious and she likes to look at fashion from a different angle and it was interesting for me too as it was a learning curve and it was an open minder. You need to challenge yourself in different ways of producing the garments and it was really interesting to do it together with the Debenhams team. Were there any challenges? There’s always certain obstacles that you’re going to meet from a project that’s […]

Lunchtime buy: Worn Free Debbie Harry ‘Camp Funtime’ t-shirt

For those of you across the pond, you might already be familiar with the California-based clothing company Worn Free, so for the Brits among us, I introduce you to the much sought-after t-shirt brand that launched in the UK just last month. Worn Free reproduces vintage t-shirts as worn by legends of the past. Each logo tee comes with a ‘backstage pass’ tag, with a photograph of your chosen icon in their version of your purchased item, telling you the date and location it was worn. From the recognisable ‘Cassius Clay’ logo as worn by Muhammad Ali and John Lennon’s ‘Working Class Hero’ shirt to tees inspired by Elvis and Dee Dee Ramone, each has a nostalgic story to tell. With Kristen Stewart’s portrayal of a certain female rocker in the upcoming Runaways, we predict that the Joan Jett tees will prove a popular option over coming months. Our pick from the lot though (and it was a tough choice – there’s an extensive selection!) is the ‘Camp Funtime’ t-shirt as worn by rock icon, Debbie Harry back in 1977. It seems we’re not the only fans either, as Mischa Barton has been spotted in the very same design. Join the celebrity fans of Worn Free (including the likes of Ellen Page, Jennifer Aniston and Naomi Campbell) and indulge in a bit of comfortable, vintage cool. T-shirts are available in a range of sizes and colours, and are made from 100% cotton. £31.22/$49.95 from Worn Free.

Oscars 2010: the dresses

Last night’s 82nd Academy Awards were full of memorable moments. Not only did The Hurt Locker pip the box-office smash Avatar to the post on more than one occasion, but Neil Patrick Harris (a.k.a. Doogie Howser) opened the event with a camp and surreal musical display of sequins and feathers and Ben Stiller dressed up as a Na’vi. Yep, he had the tail and everything. But before the ceremony began, we took a look at the red carpet to have a nosey at the stars to see what they were saying about their films… and more importantly, who dressed them. Here’s a few of the lovely ladies and the gowns they chose for 2010’s Oscars. Elizabeth Banks – Versace One of the best dressed of the night was Elizabeth banks who had previously hosted Oscar’s Scientific and Technical Awards the night before. Dressed in a risky grey Versace gown, Banks opted for a thin hairband with her up ‘do and peach-coloured eye shadow. Sandra Bullock – Marchesa Best Actress winner, Sandra Bullock looked every inch the Hollywood star in this glamourous number from Marchesa. It’s a bit too metallic for our liking but the hair and makeup round off the classic look perfectly. Carey Mulligan – Prada Brit newcomer Carey Mulligan has had some great red carpet moments recently and this one might just be her best yet. The black number from Prada features a flattering sweetheart neckline with a box pleat skirt that could have so easily ended in disaster. We couldn’t see closely enough but apparently, the dress is embellished with Swarovski flowers and knife, fork and scissor charms! Amanda Seyfried – Armani Prive We can’t help but think this Armani Prive drowned Amanda Seyfried. It also probably didn’t help that J Lo was wearing a fairly similar […]
