We completely support anyone who demonstrates a love for the art that is couture and the FT has an article detailing exactly why couture will never die.
This art – and it is an art – is about clothes, about construction. Couture adds credibility not to beauty ranges but to a house’s ready-to-wear; we trust a house that can produce the best in its field and it’s why we end up accepting it when a hem unravels or a zip sticks – because we know that really they know better, they just made a mistake.
