My experience with MeJeans has not been so good. I placed and order on 9/16/06. I received one e-mail confirmation of my order saying that they would update me regularly. I have not heard back since then. They do not answer my e-mails and there is no phone number to call them. I have not heard of anyone else having problems but so far I am not happy.

I ordered mine in February and still haven’t received my jeans. I’ve had a few responses by email. One explaining that they had problems with the manufacturer and the demand put on them. That was back on June 1st. Another, July 14th, saying that they changed manufacturer and to send my measurements again. I’ve searched around on the internet and there are a lot of people unhappy. They should not keep the 4-6 week time period on their webpage. Also, they will just ignore your emails most of the time.

Do Not Order From mejeans.com! It is a SCAM!!! We ordered a pair back in February of 2006 and have received nothing but LIES from this company..they took our $98.98 immediately and delivered NOTHING!!! We are now almost into December with NO JEANS! If I can save anyone else the frustration and rip off I will. mejeans kept leading us on that they would be done next week, next week, etc. until it was too late for recourse through our credit card company…clever isn’t it? They only have email…no phone or address…sound shady to you? DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

I got a pair of jeans from a custom jeans maker, http://www.tailormade-jeanswear.com and could nto have been more pleased. It took about 2 weeks for the jeans to arrive and they fit perfectly. On the same day I sent in my measurements, the head guy, Sam Meeks, emailed me to ask for some clarification on some accessory choices I had made, so I felt cared for from the word go. The pants arrived with a freebie blet-bag just to thank me for placing the order along with customer feed-back materials that made it clear this is a hands-on customer oriented business. Its sad to see some operations don’t live up to this one.

I too, have had a horrible experience with this company. I ordered my jeans in February. I received several updates asking for patience due to the fact that the company was having “quality control issues.” I moved in October, and had quite frankly forgotten about the order. I received a card from UPS forwarded to my new address saying the package would be returned. When I contacted UPS, they said they would forward the package but went ahead and sent it back anyway. When I tried to contact Mejeans, I never got a response. Guess I’ll never see those jeans.

I ordered jeans in February 2006, got a couple of generic emails and they kept saying next week, next week…it is now December and no jeans. They will not answer emails but I did speak with PJ (owner) in June and he assured me the problems were fixed and the jeans would arrive. For 3 months I have been sending emails asking for a refund (no response) But I went back and looked at my credit card and there is a phone #, I think it is the owners cell #. He did return my call once, he sounds like a very nice scammer!Saying everything I needed ti hear and very sorry for the problems. If everyone continues to call and bug him maybe it will at least make us feel better! HERE IT IS 630-803-2727 ILLINOIS. Also, I saw mejeans on some morning show, that is how I first heard of it, I wonder if the show would do a follow up on what a scam it is and how many people lost money, Did anyone see that show? Do you remember which one it was? If a bunch of us went to the media with complaints MAYBE we would get our money back?

I believe that the Early Show on CBS featured these jeans. That was what made me go to their site and place an order in May. When I got nothing within 2 1/2 months, I put in a dispute with my credit card company and they gave me the credit, technically called a chargeback, for goods not received. The seller is contacted and if they can prove that the goods were delivered, the bank will not issue a credit. Obviously, me jeans couldn’t prove any delivery! I guess I was within the time limit though (usually 60 days from when your credit card statement was issued).
It would be nice to see a follow up on the Early Show though.

WOW… EVERY STORY ABOVE is an EXACT duplicate of my story. I ordered my jeans the first week of October… I haven’t heard a word. Just the “generic”, auto-response after the initial email. Since then, I have made SEVERAL (4 to be exact) attempts to contact them, NO RESPONSE. Thank you to everyone above, for listing important contact information. You better believe that I intend to call PJ on Monday. As well as create as much of a STIR as I can until SOMETHING is done.

    CBS… I’ll be calling!

Same story. Ordered in August. Never got the jeans nor even a response to my emails. I wish I had seen these complaints when I researched them in August.
  • Connie said:
My situation is like everyone else that has posted before me. Ordered Feb. 23, 2006, received stall email in June that said my audit had failed and they would be remaking jeans. Another stall email came months later stating they had issues with their suppliers. Asked for my 98.00 plus change back in Nov. and of course you never hear from them. I do remember the show where the mejeans was featured was a weekend morning show with Debbye Turner. I have ordered over the web many many times and have never been disappointed. I consider myself a careful shopper but unfortunatly I fell for the mejeans scam. I strongly urge anyone looking for a custom pair of jeans to use one of the other companies out there. Mejeans does not deserve your hard earned money. I know I will never get my jeans nor my money but only want to warn others.

I ordered jeans 9/3/06, and have not received them. I also tried to contact mejeans three times — no response. I had planned to to give mejeans as Christmas gifts but wanted to try a pair first. Thank goodness I did!
  • Judy said:
Wow…same story here! I ordered my jeans on 10/31/06, and my credit card was charged on 12/18/06. I’ve emailed the company twice with no response. This morning, 1/23/07, I called my credit card company to ask if I have any recourse. They suggested I call the number on my credit card statement (PJ’s, as many of the above posts state) to try to resolve the issue, and if I’m unsuccessful, the credit card company will dispute the charge. Hopefully, that will be true since it doesn’t sound like I’ll ever see my jeans or hear from mejeans.com. Boy, do I feel stupid for not researching this company better before buying. I’m usually sufficiently paranoid about such things to have done so. Ugh!!!
  • Kimberly said:
Wow, Sounds like there’s enough of us to start a lynch mob ;) I ordered in mid-November, my card was processed in mid-December and I haven’t heard a peep from them since despite several emails requesting a status report. If anyone gets some results, let me know! I will be calling the 800 directory and PJ’s number to see if I can track them down. Unfortunately, I used my bank debit card for the transaction so I don’t think I have the same options that I would with a regular credit card…
  • Kelly said:
Same here! January 06 and still no jeans. The website is still up. What a scam! The Start Tribune had a very flavorable write up on custom jeans sites and I chose this one.

Yet another customer with idetical stories to the others. Order placed on 10/30/06, credit card processed 12/17/06. That’s the last I heard from them! I’ve sent several e-mails with no response. Please, if someone is successful with a refund or some kind of explaination, let us know!
  • Alix said:
Dang! Wish I had done a little more research before placing an order with this company. If I had seen all these comments beforehand I never would have bothered with them. My story is pretty much the same as everyone else’s. Thankfully, I haven’t been charged for anything. I think I’ll call my credit card company and ask if they can keep this company from charging me should they ever try. I hope everyone who has left a comment on here has reported this company to the FTC. I found an article on this compay done by ABC 7 Chicago (http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=websites&id=3808724). I sent them an e-mail saying I thought it was a fraudulent company. We’ll see what happens. Grr! This just pisses me off! What a waste of time. I don’t have a decent pair of jeans that fit me. All this time I’m thinking I’ll be getting some good fitting one’s soon. In the words of Bart Simpson this both sucks and blows!
  • Paul said:
I actually do have a pair of mejeans. And they are amazing. I did order mine before PJ started having problems. This is not a fraudulent company. I know for a fact that this company is indeed having manufacturing problems. PJ doesn’t obviously make the jeans himself, they get outsourced to another country give him a break.
  • sandy cheese said:
Paul: if this is not a fraudulant company why has he ripped off so many people? i paid $127.00 in feb. 06 no jeans, no contacts, no refund. give him a break? i’ll give him a break when i see my money or my jeans.
  • Missy said:
Paul: As far as I’m concerned I HAVE given him a break by not pursuing this in court, which I am seriously thinking about doing. (hello, class action anyone?)
If he was not a fraudulent company, he would immediately contact everyone who placed an order he couldn’t fill and tell them what’s going on — at the very LEAST. And he should also refund their money. But something, anything as far as communication is the very least he could do to prove he is not just trying to rip us off!
  • Connie said:
I think Paul must work for mejeans! This person could not have been the 1 and only lucky person to have gotten their order. Class action suit sounds like a winner to me. I do have copies of all of my sent emails and a copy of my credit card statement. Let’s keep posting the negative about this company. They should not be allowed to conduct business. I think 14 months to fulfill an order of a simple pair of jeans is MORE than fair, and anyone who waits that long surely cannot be judged impatient.
  • sandy cheese said:
I don’t understand why this company is still able to take peoples money with all these complaints. Has everyone filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at:

    https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

I would like to see them first stop ripping new people off and then I’d be all for a class action suit. Any interested lawyers out there? Sandy

  • Sandy said:
Wow, on April 4th 2007 i posted a reply threateding a class action suit against mejeans. Today, out of the blue I got an email from PJ asking if I still want my refund. A coinsidence? He said he would send it immediately, this is from an order placed in 2/2006, I’ll keep you posted…there is still hope to get our money back!
  • Kimberly said:
Well, I posted several months ago regarding MeJeans and now I have quite the update. First of all, I was quick enough to report the incident to my bank that they refunded my debit card purchase. So I’ve gotten my money back after sending emails to the mejeans address requesting a status report or cancellation of my order. After getting my money back I received the email saying my jeans were being washed and figured it was just a stall tactic. Imagine my shock when I had a package containing my jeans sitting on my porch just two weeks ago… the jeans don’t come even close to fitting, so I’m glad that I got my money back, but at least I know someone was trying to do something on the other end…
  • Alix said:
Glad to hear that some people are getting responses from MeJeans. I’m not holding my breath though. And to update, I sent a complaint last week to the FTC. They responded to let me know that they were looking into it.
  • Missy said:
I got an e-mail the other day saying my jeans were in the “washing process.” SIX months later? The worst part? His e-mail closes with this:
“Thanks again for being a great customer – We certainly appreciate you!”
    Can you believe it?
I responded and told him if he appreciated his customers he would refund everyone’s money that he’s ripping off. I hope this can work out for everyone.
I also sent complaints to the FTC and Illinois attorney general. I got responses that they are investigating.
  • Duggy said:
I am lucky. They never took my money. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that. Anyway I ordered Feb 6th ‘07, received a comfirmation number, then “poof”…nothing and no response to date.
  • sandy cheese said:
To my surprise I got a check from PJ today for the entire amount! Lets see if the check clears now. Sandy
  • Connie said:
How is everyone getting their money back? Please let me know the secret. I have emailed many times and pleaded with this company, complete with order numbers. It is now 15 months since I have ordered. There have been no offers to refund or even an email since Oct. 06. My goal here is to keep others from being duped by this company and their unreputable business practices.
  • sandy said:
Well, there is hope! after months trying to contact this company to get a refund i gave up. then out of the blue i get an email from pj asking if i still want a refund…I received a check the following week and the check cleared! From start to finish this ordeal took 15 months and a lot of frustration but i did finally get a refund. hang in there and keep bugging them.
  • Missy said:
I also got a refund check in the mail (and it cleared). I had sent complaints to the FTC and attorney general and they both responded that they were going to contact him. So I guess he got the message. If you still haven’t heard from him, keep contacting him and let him know you have put in complaints to the FTC and attorney general (and do it). Good luck everyone!
  • Sarah said:
Mejeans ripped me off about a year and a half ago, I got my money back from the bank who has my debit card (Visa) and also complained to the BBB. After all of the complaints and requests for refunds one would think that Visa, MC and Amex would have cut them by now? How can PJ sleep at night? PJ- If you read this you would avoid tons of hate mail/calls if you would just post the turntimes for jeans. Duh…
  • Lisa said:
Well, evidently, he got me too! He took funds and issued a reference number on June 6. No further contact. I have requested a status report twice.

I just contacted him one last time and stated that if he didn’t send the jeans or issue an immediate refund, I would pursue the issue with the FTC and the Attorney General….

Ladies, without this thread, I’d have to write off the money, but now I have hope.

You all ROCK, thank you for sharing your experiences!!!

  • Maria said:
I have to say that I too have been duped! I sent my order April 27th and I got an automated email telling be my order was accepted Other than that I have heard NOTHING.

They took my money in June and I’ve received nothing about the stage of my jeans or any of my questions, nada, zip, zero. I, on the other hand, have sent them over TWENTY emails requesting any information they could give me!

I sent a complaint to FTC and contacted my CC company and so hopefully something good will happen. I only wish I had know about this whole mess before I clicked “okay”. I guess I should have noticed it as a little shady considering that they don’t have a Costumer Service number. What company doesn’t have a Costumer Service number?!

  • Julie said:
I actually received a pair of Me jeans. Took awhile, a matter of months, so I decided ok, I’ll get another pair. Ordered them in December ‘06, never received them. Got the same stupid emails you all got in April about them being in the wash. I just turned in a complaint to the FTC.
  • Jeff said:
Ordered jeans in Feb 2006. Finally got them almost a year later. They fit horribly. Spent several months trying to get ahold of PJ to receive the “return authorization number” that is necessary to return something. After many emails, I finally got the number and sent the jeans back. Six months later no refund and no response to my emails. A FTC complaint has been submitted.
  • Kathleen said:
I ordered my Jeans on Feb. 27, 2006, because I saw a spot on the ABC Chicago news. I have yet to recieve them, and of course, they do not answer my emails. I did talk with P.J., and got the “manufacturing problem” fish story too, plus a promise to deliver within three weeks, after waiting six months. BUT - this is obviously a scam. It is too late for a credit card chargeback, but you can ask your credit card company to contact them and you can file a complaint. They seem to have spent all the company money on PR and advertising, which is how we all got hooked. My question is - WHY are they still in business???
  • Matt said:
On behalf of mejeans and the founder of the company, PJ, I am writing to formally apologize to the folks who have had negative experiences with the company. My name is Matt and I have been brought on by PJ to act as president of the the company. First I want to confirm this is a valid company and not a scam. We have been in business since 2003. It is understandable as to why some people would come to the scam conclusion and I am not here to make excuses - we had delivery time problems. This is a case of too much too fast. Quite honestly, the business and its product were so well received that we and our suppliers were not prepared to handle the high volume of orders. Delivery times of jeans were well beyond what we promised on our web site. This also negatively affected our customer serivce. We understand that lack of information is very unsettling and agree that it is unacceptable.

That being said, anyone who reqested a refund has received one. If for some reason you wanted a refund and did not receive one, please send an email to info@mejeans.com with “Refund” in the title line. We will make it right.

Mejeans has over 1000 satified customers. We deliver one of a kind unique jeans designed by you and made for you. We are proud of our product and take great care in the manufacture of our jeans. We have taken steps both in the sourcing and manufacture of our product to improve upon service and delivery times.

We are still in business because we are honest; we make and deliver high quality jeans and are committed to the concept that no two people are alike - so why should their jeans be?

If you really want true custom premium denim jeans go to http://www.indicustom.com, they just launched their premium denim jeans for men and women just in time for the holidays. They use true custom technology to help you get your style and your fit in 2-3 weeks, on some occasions they have been shipping within 1 week. According to their website they ship directly from the manufacturers, and their manufacturing employees are paid very well in order to ensure that you get high quality in a few weeks at a reasonable price. Don’t deal with amateurs, go with the professionals who have been in business for over 8 years.

Matt is completely lying. I have requested a refund MANY times and not received one. I emailed one last time, and I figured I’d give them a week. Then take other action. Anyone else not received a refund?

My mom gave my sister and I gift certificates to this website, thinking it would be a fun design adventure. I finally got my butt in gear to order, did the measurements and picked my wash etc. (Lots of fun!). When it came to the ordering, it claims the website is no longer in service (something about a certificate not being for real)… I hope this is not a result of their difficulties the last two years. I truly hope my mom did not waste all that money. I have emailed the address that Matt suggests on Nov. 15th, 2007, but have not had a response. Please be weary, but hopeful that this is a legit business. Matt, Please be legit. - fingers crossed

I have exchanged emails and was told a refund went out 4/8/08. They have stopped responding to my emails and I have not received the refund. Is anyone still interested in a class action? I don’t feel like a company should be able to screw over so many people, get away with it and remain in business…I’m filing with the FTC this week, and I have a corporate lawyer that said they would help with the suite….

This company is the worst!!!! I ordered several months ago and the items never arrived. I e-mailed three times and never get a response. This company is nothing but thieves. Others say that they have gotten in touch with the owner and that he says that they are having some problems with the manufacture. If that were the case don’t you think that they would stop accepting peoples money until they get their s*** straightened out. That’s how you know that this is all a scam. If it doesn’t have the ring of truth then it’s not true. Outrageous!
