Golden Globes 2007

I refrained from reviewing any of the looks yesterday from the Golden Globes, mainly because I was slightly put off by this pose from Beyonce. I don’t know how narcissistic someone must be to strike that kind of pose on the red carpet of all places, but it was distasteful to say the least. What did I think of her dress? It was a beautiful creation by Elie Saab but not the diva’s best choice, I would have liked to have seen her in an understated colour, looking a lot more demure and with less bling.

My two favourites on the night were Cameron Diaz in Valentino and Sienna Miller wearing Marchesa. I’m probably one of the few to appreciate these two and I’m sure they will be subject to a lot of ridicule because of their choices but I liked the fact that they were brave and didn’t play it too safe. Cameron’s red lips along with her dark hair complimented her dress and the black bow added a pretty touch to the one shouldered gown.

Sienna playing around with her hair was a plus rather than a minus, and her braids, provided her Grecian look with a much needed fresh vibe.

I loved Cameron’s dress too. Dark hair with red lips & a white dress is such a good look. Plus, I am a fan of anything that resembles a cake!

Beyonce’s pose was as disturbing to me as it was to you… once ordained a diva, always a diva, I guess. But someone should tell her that dressing like an Oscar does not guarantee you one… While Cameron’s dress was pretty, it all screamed trying to hard to me…
