Goddess of the Dawn

How much do I love the internet? Too much! Couture week officially began this morning with the presentation of Elie Saab’s collection “Goddess of the Dawn” and already some of the pictures from the show have surfaced. The Godfather of bling displayed shimmering gowns, perfect for an award winning starlet and which were stunning to say the least. However there were some pieces which I just found a bit too tacky and personally I think they were better suited or should I say would have been at home at a collection from Versace (see below)

On the whole, while I wasnt left in awe by Saab’s contribution - I much preferred his spring/summer 06 -it was an exquisite and romantic start to the week and the piece below has to be my favourite. I love the shape and cut of the neckline and especially the delicate spiderweb train, held up by the models behind. Check out all the pictures here

I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! As a designer myself, Elie is a great inspiration among other designers especially when it comes to the glam factor.

    Thanks for sharing.

As a fashionista myself and stylist, I love the collection, as for the bit more tacky ones I don’t think I would be to quick to offer them to my clients, yet they work great on the runway!
