While the hysteria and hypocrisy which surrounded Anya Hindmarch’s “I’m not a plastic bag” was amusing you can’t deny on some level she’s created some much needed awareness. Alternatives to the plastic bag are popping up all over and my favourite so far has to be this bag from checkout my bag. Just £3.99 and made from 100% unbleached calico, it’s so light yet incredibly sturdy. Loving it!
My husband and I switched to using canvas tote bags when grocery shopping. We bought them at our grocery store. I love using them, and not just for environmental reasons. It takes fewer trips to take the food from the car to the kitchen because you can pack so much more into each bag without it tearing and the handles don’t pinch your hands like the plastic.
