The smock shape has dominated trends for a couple of seasons now, with loose cuts and a ‘fluid’ silhouette being summer favourites. However fashion week provided a sneak peek into the Autumn/Winter 2007/08 trends and tight fit appears to have established itself as the shape for autumn.

This creation by Alessandro Dell’Acqua is perhaps a bit too daring for most but it should give you a sense of what’s to come. For some, to whom the loose fit was a saviour, don’t let this trend plunge you in to a state of despair, there is always a way to suit every style to your physical shape, so if you don’t feel that the slim cut mini is for you then go with a tightly fitted top and high waist tailored slacks.

Be prepared…be very prepared! Skinny jeans have reigned supreme for a while now but as we begin to get geared up for autumn it seems more and more evident that those high-waisted, wide legged jeans will be knocking the skinnies off their throne.
