Chloë Sevigny’s Opening Ceremony

Posted by Michele Obi on Thursday, 13 September 20074 Comments

Amidst the whoo-hah of fashion week, the launch of Chloë Sevigny’s new collection for Opening Ceremony appears to have been overlooked….perhaps fashion week wasn’t the best of times for its release. In the video below Chloë showcases some pieces to Style.com and explains how the partnership came about.

Thoughts on the line? Well its very Chloë…whatever that is. I would define it as quirky but apparently she doesnt agree. Well whether you love it or hate it, is probably dependent on if you like her style…..

I didn’t know she was producing a label as well. Well why not - everyone and their kitten is doing it. However, I cannot believe that her label got overlooked. She is well rated by all fashionistas for her cool and edgy style. What is the world coming to when a style goddess like Chloe Sevigny gets utterly blanked. Sack the PR person I say.

I LOVE Chloe and I like this line, but I can’t help thinking that most of this stuff could be salvaged at a thrift store. Um, but I love the font on her label. And I’d love to see more.

Here’s the thing: I think Chloe Sevigny’s own style is great and it suits her, but what I saw in this clip was pretty blah. I’m left a bit cold. It was like SJP’s ‘Bitten” — celebrities’ own collections of late don’t really seem to match at all what their personal style is. I guess I’ll have to visit Opening Ceremony before making a final judgment, but if what was on the clip was the best of the bunch, then…. gah.

None of this stuff from “Chloe”s line is wearable in “normal” life…and where is this stuff manufactured anyway?? Does anyone know? and does she care?
