Beauty: Skin MD Natural

skin_md_cream_2.jpgI have real issues with facial creams, too greasy and I break out in spots, too light and my skin feels uncomfortable and dry. Elemis Absolute Night Cream, is the only moisturizer my skin has welcomed with open arms, but being that its a tad pricey, I prefer to buy a bottle when my skin is in bad shape and instead use Boots Cleansing lotion, day to day. It does the job but I tend to break out in spots now and again. Being that my skin can be quite fussy I’m quite reluctant to test out new creams but when I read the press release for SKIN MD Natural, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to bite the bullet and try out a sample.

Unlike other lotions and potions, SKIN MD Natural promises to be more than just a moisturizer. It is in fact a shielding lotion. Basically it protects the skin by keeping out all the irritants in the environment (which is especially beneficial for anyone who suffers from eczema) and restores moisture to the skin, whilst allowing the skin to moisturize itself. For a more technical explanation read here.

Results wise, I didn’t expect miracles and I didn’t get any. My skin wasn’t completely flawless after testing, but I didn’t have my usual breakouts either. The consistency of the lotion was such that unlike my regular moisturizing cream I only had to apply one coat throughout the day (usually I apply facial cream 2 – 3 times in a day) and it can also be used for hands as well as the body (which is a bonus for me as I carry around both a facial moisturizer and a separate hand lotion).

I loved it and recommend it for anyone who has to deal with sensitive skin. It’s not too oily neither is it too light, it protects while moisturizes and can be used as a hand/body lotion too. What more can a girl ask for?

I’m an artist and find that the oils and solvents I use are always drying my hands out and leaving them dry, cracked and sore. Skin MD Natural sounds great, especially as it’s non greasy and lasts so long. It seems to be getting some good press too and is worth checking out - Skin MD Natural in the UK. It uses a new advanced scientific proprietary formulation which, apparently, has a moisturizing factor 6 times greater than glycerin, the standard humectant (water absorber) against which all others are measured. It is a shielding lotion which bonds to the skin to keep the irritants out, moisture in and protects the skin in a way a normal moisturizer can’t. Well worth a look.
