Kate designs for Topshop

Posted by Michele Obi on Saturday, 16 September 20064 Comments

H&M and Target have made it their mission to team up with as many top designers of the moment and bring to us cheap yet chic fashion, but Topshop has gone one better and if the rumours are correct will be hiring Kate Moss for £1 million to design her very own range.

Due to hit the shops early next year, it’s a sure bet the line will be a success. H&M must be kicking themselves for not backing Kate during her cocaine shame, otherwise who knows, it could have been them. [Mirror.co.uk]

In between editing, freelancing and spending most of her time on the internet, she also finds time to shop (too much) and obsess over shoes. She loves sushi and counts Matthew Williamson, John Galliano, Valentino and Hussein Chalayan as her favourite designers. Her biggest regret - never seeing Prince in concert!

Watching footage of Hussein Chalayan’s show at Paris fashion week Spring/Summer 07 showed and gave hope to all that there is a future and an interesting one at that. Not the first designer to mix technology into fashion, (there are others before such as Alexandra Fede.) [...]

Pfft….just because someone has style does not mean they know what goes into creating a clothing line. I bet that Kate is only “creative director” and fashion designers do the real work.

Yep, spot on…a team of designers will be interpreting her ideas/look as an inspiration for the line…
