Beauty: Imju Fiberwig Mascara

A few weeks ago, I went to dinner with my girlfriends and as usual, our convo turned into a lively discussion about the latest beauty products we’ve been using. As we covered falsies vs. eyelash extensions vs. the latest mascaras, we started talking about Imju’s Fiberwig, the number-one selling mascara in Japan (with buzz rivaling that of the legendary Shu Uemera eyelash curler). With the promise of clump-free, smudge-proof dramatic lashes at the touch of a wand, I had to see what all the hoopla was about.

Now that I’ve been using Fiberwig for a couple of weeks, I think I can safely declare that this might be love. The application of the product is so smooth and easy, and I don’t need to spend any time de facto, de-clumping or combing through my lashes to ensure a natural look. My lashes are fairly long already, so it’s usually hard to tell the difference when I test out these lengthening products, but with Fiberwig, the fullness and length of my lashes increases noticeably.

Aside from being able to flaunt bambi-like lashes, the biggest selling point to me is that even though this product stays put for as long as I want it to without smudging, at the end of the day, I can remove it with just a touch of warm water (ie no more raccoon eyes or lash breakage by scrubbing with cotton balls and eye-makeup remover!)

At $22, it’s not cheap, especially when my old standby (and the best selling mascara in the US), Great Lash, can be found at a fraction of the price…but for healthier and longer lashes without any fuss, I think it’s worth the investment. Available at Sephora.

my friend tried this and really liked it too! I’ve yet to try it, I think that Maybelline’s Lash Discovery does the job for a much cheaper price (Lash Discovery comes off with warm water too, and doesn’t clump) but I think I might try Fiberwig after hearing so much good stuff about it!

I was just in Japan (Tokyo) and the styles are crazy there.. not just makeup but hairstyles. Everybody looks like they literally stepped out of a video game or japanese comic.

I did find a nice jewelry brand in some of the shops. Turns out that they sell in the US too via their website. http://www.vanelly.com
