Oscars 2008: Best and Worst Dressed

With the exception of Marion Cotillard’s, Jean Paul Gaultier mermaid gown, complete with flaking fish scales and tail (although the dress was a bit too “theme-y”, it was nice to see someone take risks on the red carpet) nearly every leading lady dressed in the classic hues – black and red…feathers, one shoulder, and Grecian-inspired gowns were also big, and simple silhouettes served as a canvas for dripping displays of diamonds.
My favourite look of the night however was Keri Russell who was stunning in a pristine, ethereal, Nina Ricci gown, and the gorgeous 46-carat-diamond necklace draped around her slight frame didn’t hurt the cause.
Worst dressed went to Oscar winner, Tilda Swinton, in an androgynous, loose fitting, single sleeved black dress by Lanvin.

Keri’s dress did not fit her. She has weird lines and stretch marks under her arms. Terrible posture. Her hair looked like she was going to the gym. The only one who got it wrong.
I liked Tilda Swinton’s natural, athletic and not-overdone look - her jewelry was great and she was a refreshing alternative to all the overdone hair, ruffles and makeup.

Marion’s dress and Heidi Klum’s dress were fresh and flity. Miley Cryrus’s sucked and Tilda’s was too baggy.
I thought Heidi Klum looked phenomenal also…I just thought it was unfair to include a supermodel/non-actor in the mix
Miley looked pretty…just a bit too old for her age.
As for Tilda, just a touch of make-up would’ve gone a long way…at least to draw eyes away from what was goin on below the neck.
Tilda Swinton really looks bad… but I think Penelope Cruz really looked like a goddess. Well, anything she puts on anyway makes her pretty. Heidi Klum stood out as well. She looked so beautiful and sexy.
I kinda thought everyone looked boring. Uninspiring overall.

tilda swinton looked very masculine. I think she looked like she was going to the gym with her “under-done” hair and make-up. I mean this is the Oscar’s, you gotta play dress uo a little!!!
Cate Blanchett is a goddess! Marion Cotillard deserved the award and looked gorgeous! Tilda Swinton could have looked so much better… Wrong dress, no make-up… It’s a shame!
I thought Penelope Cruz looked absolutely horrible. Like some sort of retarded peacock or ostrich. Yuck.

Penelope Cruz was absolutely horrible! I didn’t like her dress of any way. I think Marion Cotillard and Heidi Klum and Katherine Heigl were the best dressed of this year’s Oscar. I also think Tilda Swinton could look so so much better. Her dress was a bag and his face without make-up… I like Tilda but she wasn’t good at the Oscars. Congratulations Marion! You give us the best performance of the year!
I thought Keri Russell’s dress was a bit boring…I still like Marion Collitard’s better. It’s nice to see someone take risks and actually pull it off.
