Claudia Schiffer’s got a new job!
Claudia Schiffer will be joining the judging panel at this year’s Graduate Fashion Week. The supermodel will help to choose the winner of the £20,000 River Island Gold award.
Schiffer follows in the footsteps of previous judges, Alber Elbaz, Artistic Director Lanvin, Stefano Pilati, Creative Director of Yves Saint Laurent, Christopher Bailey, Creative Director Burberry and Victoria Beckham.
Celebrating 21 years in fashion, Schiffer said of her latest role,
I have been privileged to witness the incredible expertise of some of the most inspiring design talents in the world. The passion
and energy that surrounds this creative world are addictive and to take part in supporting the birth of new talent is fantastic.I have always believed that the UK has a unique energy, it’s such a melting pot of new ideas, with an influence that is so far reaching, I am never surprised to hear so many English accents in design studios all over the world.”
Graduate Fashion Week will showcase the work of more than 1000, BA degree fashion graduates from 49 UK universities. It will run from June 8th – 12th. For more information visit www.gfw.org.uk
