DKNY Jeans taps Rachel Bilson to launch clothing line
Actress, Rachel Bilson joins a long list of celebrities that are venturing into the fashion business. Teaming up with DKNY jeans, Bilson is set to launch a casual wear line under the name Edie Rose (named after her grandmother and a close family friend.
The collection will consist of 15 pieces ranging from jackets to t-shirts, dresses and two different styles of jeans (straight and skinny legs).
For both parties its a win, win situation – DKNY hope to attract the more fashion forward customer (plus a hoard of Rachel Bilson fans) and for Bilson its a great way to make baby steps into an industry that she’s had her eye on for a while. Speaking to WWD the 26 yr old said of the partnership,
“This is something that I have been interested in doing for such a long time. I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity for it to be done right.
This line is my main focus right now. I can’t draw at all, so I won’t be doing any sketches, but I am learning to sew. I think it’s important to know more about the whole process of making clothes.”
Edie Rose for DKNY jeans will hit stores in September. Prices range from $19.50 and $49.50 per piece.
