Are Jelly Shoes Making a Comeback?

If you’re looking to bust out your jellies after years of hibernation in the back of your closet, now’s your opportunity to dust them off…

I won’t lie and say that I never owned them, because I remember begging my mom for a pair of sparkly, cotton candy pink jellies when I was in grade school (and boy did I love them). But, as an adult, I find it a little odd to see reincarnations of these confectionary rubber shoes back on the market.

After all, what is the purpose of these wellie and flat hybrids? Each on its own makes sense: wellies are great for looking chic while keeping our pant bottoms dry, while ballet flats are a perfect alternative to heels when our schedule involves traversing more than a few city blocks at a time.

The combination of the two, however, doesn’t quite seem to add up…although I will admit that they might look cute when paired with the right outfit.

If you’re looking to re-live the 80’s, check out J. Crew or Urban Outfitters who are stocking your fave candy-coloured jellies for Spring.
