Help: Which brand make the best skinny jeans?

I feel like a lot of mags have been pushing the whole high-waisted super wide-legged trouser look, and even when normally fashion-forward celebs try on this trend I’m just not getting it.

These women have personal trainers and eat tiny meals (I don’t believe the “I eat whatever I want” line for half a second), meaning their bodies are pretty much flawless, and in my opinion the high-waisted style looks dowdy even on them. Translation: the high-waisted trend is not going to work for us regular folk.

I want to look fashion forward but I’m still thinking that the skinny jean is the best look of the moment, even though they were in their heyday a few seasons ago. All of this is at the forefront of my mind because my favorite Rock &Republics suffered an unfortunate demise last weekend and my denim rotation is suffering.

I want a pair of skinny (but not lycra-esque) jeans, in a darker wash, but there are so many options out there! I’ve been polling my friends to get their fave names and I’ve heard J-Brand, Rich & Skinny, and a dozen others. So help me out here ladies..which brand make the best skinny jeans?

I have a pair of J-brand and they are very comfortable. The only problem is i was too hasty in choosing the correct size. The butt is too big on my so it makes that whoosh sound when i walk, i keep on having to pull it up. Choose a tight size if your getting this brand.

Definitely try JBrand. I am petite and curvy, so their straight leg style is the perfect amount of skinny for me. Try Revolveclothing.com for more info. They have fit guides for all skinny leg styles (pencil, cigarette, straight). They even tell you which washes run big. Plus, they have free shipping. I also agree with Jessica, get them tight! Mine are loose in the waist and I keep on having to pull mine up.

J-Brands are the best!!!! I second =) I’m also petite, but I got heavy thighs, not-big-but-definitely-not-small butt and narrow waist; these don’t give me the hideous loose crotch fabric, the wide, un-fillable waistlines, and 2 inches of revealing butt-crack that most brands give me =)

    J Brand hands down!

I’m a premium denim addict…. I have tried them all on, here in London and in the states… JBrand works for everyone, and they come in super low, mid and higer rise… Spend time researching online, they have ‘fit boutiques’ in the states, but unfortunately not here in London, but if you research using ”revolve” which carry all the styles… you will be able to find something you like, and be more confident about the one you want before you head to selfridges or wherever… (as sales assistants will try to convince you).

    Good luck.

The best skinnies I’ve ever bought have to be by BDG at Urban Outfitters. They fit amazingly well and don’t stretch out too much, even at the ankles! Plus, they’re really inexpensive, which means getting them in multiple washes won’t break the bank. Like with all jeans, I’d recommend buying them AT LEAST 1 size smaller, as they will stretch with constant wear.

Goldsign makes a pretty great pair. They are extremely soft and hug your curves, but in all the right places.

I’ve had the same dilemma. I used to be a designer jean addict but they’d all end up fading and stretching out until they become my schleppy jeans. So now I’ve started buying cheaper pairs.

I’m loving my American Apparel skinny jeans right now. They’re inexpensive and come in every single colour under the sun. I’m wearing the asphalt ones right now. But I’m sure some of you might brave the bright red or turqouise too.

What am I, like the 10th person on here to say J Brand? But it is so true!!! Their 10″ skinny is so fabulous- I have it in two colors. The proportions are great, especially if you’re petite. I get compliments on them constantly. My only complaint is that there isn’t a lighter-weight fabric version of them. Also, the ink color faded pretty majorly. Still the best all around though. BDG is good if you can’t drop the cash for J Brand, but I always find their jeans to have gaping space in the back of the waistband. So not hot. :)

as donna said up there, about the earnest sewn skinnies.
those are also my favourite, they are SO flattering and also SO comfortable! i have them in black, and they are definitely one of my favourite pairs of jeans. you may also want to try the stella or julie style of true religions though, they are also very very good, as true religions are my favourite all time brand of jeans.
