nina_garcia_portrait.jpg Nina Garcia (Project Runway Judge, soon to be ex Elle staffer, and author of The Little Black of Style) along with, Step Up Women’s Network, and Bayer HealthCare are offering one lucky designer the chance to win $10,000 to invest in their dream job. The aim of the game is this: give the birth control case a makeover.

The winning design will be the one that transforms the birth control case into a stylish carrying case that’s just as chic as the purse its being carried in.

“The design challenge we’re posing is a fashion transformation unlike any other,” said Garcia. “We’re taking an iconic accessory—the birth control case—and asking aspiring designers to take a shot at redesigning it into a chic, more sophisticated carrying case that they could slip into their purses.”

Design submissions will be accepted until June 30, 2008. The contest winners will be announced around the time of Fashion Week in fall 2008. Click here to enter.
