Glove Love!

As part of my inherent love for any modern take on ladylike style, the kind of details that recall a time when gentlemen tipped their hats on cobbled streets as the ladies sprayed their love letters with rose water and petals, I give you the glove. Well, gloves.

Not wooly, or leather, or dominatrix but, rather, summer gloves in the manner of the delicate beige crochet pair that my mother used to wear to school in Australia. Light as air, lace spun dreams of dressing for a picnic in a hazy meadow with straw hats and ribbons that run down your back.

I particularly love the Louis Vuitton take on this look; slouchy elbow length gloves of leather and tulle in muted tones or jaded pastels that conjure an entirely new take on dressing like a lady.

Embellished or fluorescent, they are delicate ballerinas whose considered style works best with scruffy outfits and casual layers. Contrast fragile tulle with leather and outlandish prints, or team lace and crochet with florals and cotton. And just wait for the hat-tipping to begin….

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
