The Pursuit of the Classic Chanel Bag

I’ve been lusting after a classic black, caviar Chanel bag for some time now. Whenever I come across someone carrying one, I feel a twinge of envy and admiration. The luxurious look of the quilted lambskin and the signature linked chain and logo just epitomize the style, class and glamour that Coco, herself, embodied.

Even though I can feasibly buy one of these bags, it’s hard for me to rationalize plunking down a few thousand dollars on a handbag, no matter how fabulous and timeless it is. At the same time, I don’t think I will feel fashionably fulfilled until I have my hands on one.

What do you think of the hefty price tag on these bags?

At what prices do these bags start? I am under the impression that they start at around $2000, but I could be wrong.

You should really get the lambskin instead - once you’ve felt the smooth and supple leather you would totally fall in love with it.

I found this great site online that auctions off a ton of amazing chanel bags, both vintage and current - portero– they are one of the only online auction market places that authenticates branded luxury products (also have tons of birkins and other great accessories!). I think Portero will definitely set a new standard for online luxury auctions - they really seem to take great measures to ensure their customers are getting products that are high quality…and authentic! i also heard (but am not positive) that they have one of the largest selections of vintage chanel? anyway, check it out!
