Colleen Mcloughlin’s Wedding: The Dress of the Year?

[by Gabi Muller | 11 June 2008 | 3 Comments| ]

colleen_mcloughlin_060608.jpgI love a good celebrity wedding. Meringue-style dress, glittering tiaras and sparkling jewellery all create the perfect illusion of a fairytale come true. When I got married last year I aimed for such greatness, but because my wealth does not equal that of a footballers wife, I had to settle for something not quite on par with a five million pound wedding.

Yes, the next lavish celeb wedding is due to grace the covers of Hello and OK next weekend when British celeb, Colleen McLoughlin (famous for not so much), weds her football player husband in Italy.

Never mind the fact that Westlife will be playing, or the dozens of butterflies each guest will release at the mention of ‘I Do’, - I am more interested in her wedding dress!

Personally designed by Georgina Chapman of Marchesa fame, the £100, 000 ivory dress is complete with a 25ft train and took six return trips from London to New York to complete (that alone cost £85,000).

Colleen’s friends say that she loves all things sparkly and doesn’t think £100,000 is a lot to spend on a dress! I can’t wait until next weekend to see her dress in the tabloids – I hope it’s as fabulous as it sounds…

A factual error on my part - i meant ‘dresses’ and not ‘wedding dresses’.
