Rihanna To Launch Fashion Line

According to Rihanna, a fashion line is on the cards (along with movies of course). Speaking to WWD the 20yr old singer said,
“I love fashion, so it’s only natural for me to want to create my own line. But I want to be very hands-on with it all, and that’s something that takes time.”
Are we surprised? Hardly. It was inevitable really wasn’t it? Rihanna has become a darling in the fashion industry and has a fan in Creative Director of Gucci, Frida Gianni. After her performance at Gucci’s UNICEF fund-raiser in NY last February Gianni wasted no time in snapping up Rihanna for their ad campaign to promote Gucci’s collaboration with the childrens charity.
December will witness the release of the images from the campaign titled “Tattoo Heart”, in which Rihanna models limited edition products from Gucci’s range of tattooed heart inspired products. 25 percent of sales from the line will be donated to UNICEF.
On picking Rihanna for the position, Gianni said,
“….we wanted someone with a strong personality. I felt a musician and a beautiful woman was the perfect icon for this campaign.”

If she goes on to make a fashion line, it will reflect this and she be excellent.
