All Eyes are on the Neck for Autumn

Perfect your swan like poise and ballerina posture because the neck, it would seem, is having something of a moment. A quick scan of the A/W runways suggest it as the body part de jour. From the regal ruffles of Alexander McQueen and Givenchy to neck-encircling jewels at Balenciaga and Marc Jacobs to the furs at Dries van Noten, this is face framing dressing at its best. Neatly presses collars peeked out at Chloé while soft jersey polonecks peered down from countless catwalks.

Prada’s interpretation was, of course, the most interesting using separate high-necked collars in contrasting colours under hide and seek lace - an item that I have already spied in countless editorials in a million different ways. Come autumn, I will be layering fine black polo-necks under lace and chiffon dresses and pretending that I am Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face….
