Harem Pants: A Do or a Don’t?

In my case its a don’t. Among my many obsessions - oversized bags, jodphurs, high waisted jeans..the list could go on - harem pants have never been one. In fact, they’ve always posed somewhat of a fashion dilemma for me. Admittedly there are some who can actually pull them off without looking like they belong in a circus (no, I’m not referring to MC Hammer) or even worse a music video from the early 90’s.

But there are others like Kelis (see image above) that honestly should just stay well away! I fall into the latter category. Like hats and jumpsuits, trousers with a crotch down to the knees just don’t agree with me.

If, by some stroke of luck you do wear this trend well then check out these harem-style pants by Rick Owens…they’re the only pair I could find that are easy on the eyes. $895 $671.25 available at net-a-porter.

If you’re in need of a laugh check out this find from the fashion police.

I am not too crazy about these pants, i think that skinny jeans are still totally in, my favorite pair from House De Lux in New York has been my saving grace on so many occasions. If you’re ever in the city be sure to ‘free your ass’ and check out their store!
