The Sartorialist: An Unparalleled Influence on Fashion

The day when a little known blogger can scale the heights of the fashion industry in a space of two years and become iconic has arrived.

“The Sartorialist himself, Scott Schuman, was recently shot for a GAP ad and I have to give Mr. Schuman his due props for what he has come to embody for men’s and women’s fashion. His eye is sharp and has no gender bias (well, occasionally he does shoot more women than men…) as to what is sartorially suitable for either sex plus his commentary can enlighten the staunchest anti-fashion critic.

I, for one, owe my metamorphosis in style to those countless hours, day in day out, poring over the blog. If my testimony, alone, is not enough to convert you, then consider the fact that Phillip Lim of 3.1 Phillip Lim has lauded Schuman as a “pioneer in capturing the true style of the street while Derek Lam has admitted to frequenting the site at a rate where he enters into a panic when new photos are not up. So if designers and fashion notables alike are drawing inspiration from Scott Schuman’s work, do yourself and your wardrobe a favour and click on over to The Sartorialist—it’ll be a worthwhile sojourn that could very well turn addictive!

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
