Controversy: L’Oreal Gets Under Beyoncé’s Skin

If you doubted the power of the blog, doubt no longer. What started as a simple post by TMZ in which readers were asked their thoughts on the new Feria ads featuring a “lighter than usual” Beyoncé has now turned into a controversial media circus.
There’s no denying that Beyoncé has undergone a transformation since her Destiny Child days, but the question is did L’Oreal tamper with “B”? Well according to the cosmetics giant they did not. Their exact words were,
“We highly value our relationship with Ms Knowles, it is categorically untrue that L’Oreal Paris altered Ms Knowles’ features or skin tone in the campaign for Feria hair color.”
Beyoncé has yet to comment on the ads but this isn’t the first time L’Oreal has been embroiled in issues concerning race. Just last year our friends over at Beauty Snob reported that the brands Garnier division in France was found guilty of racial discrimination after they explicitly excluded non-white women from promoting its shampoo and were subsequently fined €30,000.
