As one of the recipients of this years New Gen awards for up and coming designers Meadham Kirchhoff are in prestigious company with previous winners including the likes of Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson and Julien Macdonald to name a few!

So, can we expect similar great things from the designers; Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff? Elle magazine certainly think so hailing them this month as ‘rising stars.’ There definitely seems to be a buzz surrounding the label, so what is all the fuss about?

Well, in short their designs are classic and elegant. Unlike some of the more experimental winners of the New Gen awards Meadham Kirchhoff’s designs are incredibly wearable. Their A/W08 collection encompasses wardrobe staples in a dark colour palette, stand out pieces included a translucent blouse with lace detail. Also notable were the simple draping dresses in luxurious silver silk.

All in all the collection boasted simple and clean lines which produced an effortless elegance resonating with Calvin Klein’s timeless look. Considering this, it is not surprising that Meadham Kirchhoff are being tipped for big things. With an upcoming slot at London fashion week it will be interesting to see what the S/S 09 collection brings. We wait in eager anticipation!
