vivennewestwood_080908Queen of the catwalk, Vivienne Westwood, is set to launch her first ever compilation album, Catwalk Breakdown, this month.

The 67 year-old fashion designer is the epitomy of modern day punk mixed with designer cool, so it’s no wonder that she’s breaking down the boundries and turning her creativity into something else we can all enjoy.

The album is being released by Mercury Records and will feature 16 of her favourite inspirational songs from the New York Dolls to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Talking to Vogue UK Vivienne Westwood said,

“Sometimes (the) music can just be sexy, it can let you relax, look at the clothes, put people into a fantastic mood. Then it might just have to swing back and lift you up to the final triumph of the fashion show.”

Catwalk Breakdown will be launched at Selfridges Oxford Street on the 15th September, where Vivienne will turn its Wonder Room into Westwood heaven to celebrate this exciting new venture.
