Who: Everyone likes to have that one designer, band or movie that for a while at least seems like their own well kept secret, their own little discovery, an unearthed treasure only recognised by them. Furthermore it is always a little bit disappointing when it turns out that in fact the whole country are thinking the same thing (think Arctic Monkeys before myspace).Young London designer Nicola De Main is a classic example of this and the kooky designer is set to design a range for ASOS, making her creations available to the masses.

What: Her collections to date mostly consist of cute little shift and mini dresses in various styles. Some play on a kitsch 50’s diner look whilst others boast busy and bold prints for a more vintage feel. De Main is certainly not afraid of using bold colour statements such as the monochrome and scarlet combination which made her A/W 08 collection particularly striking. The designs are fun, flirty and feminine and the eclectic variation across her collections means there is something for everyone.

By the looks of De Main’s models it seems that tights or knee highs are an essential addition to a De Main frock so get yours in preparation for the new range which will be available on ASOS from Sept 9th. I foresee a sell out!
