Ok, so maybe it’s a little early to be wrapping up for winter but if this so-called summer is anything to go by you’ll be reaching for those cosy knits before you know it. With this in mind, behold up-and-coming label; http://www.cooperative-designs.com who seem to strike that oh so elusive balance between great fun and cosy comfort, breathing new life into those winter warmers!

Cooperative designs have quickly established themselves as one of the more creative and innovative knitwear designers around, attracting attention from Vogue earlier this year for their ‘fresh and modern’ style. The quirky A/W collection playfully juxtaposes monochrome geometrics with splashes of bright primary colours across chunky knit mittens through to slouchy sweaters and even dresses.

Kooky design statements such as the bold lama print, as well as striped woollen jumpsuits may just be little to out-there for mere mortals such as myself but its not hard to imagine more daring fashionistas pulling these designs off with immeasurable finesse.

Perhaps slightly more accessible are the mittens, scarves and bags all hand embroidered with on-trend folk-inspired patterns, hence the adorable tasselled satchel (below). The fun and playful nature of Cooperative designs is almost enough to have me welcoming in winter with open arms, just as long as they are adorned with some cosy Cooperative mittens!

Cooperative designs will be exhibiting at London Fashion week, selected pieces are also available at brownsfashion.com.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
