Yesterday Charles Anastase, who has just signed a five year production and licensing deal with Pier SpA showed for the first time in London, and judging from the reaction of the audience, us Brits are glad he did. Held in a beautiful space on Marylebone road, Anastase’s SS09 collection was very Parisian meets geek chic with a ballerina and lolita influence.

The collection started innocent with free flowing dresses layered with cardigans, and paired with geeky glasses, ankle socks and heels and then evolved with attitude. Denim pieces including a questionable pair of jeans inscribed with “Charles” on the bum area broke up the collection which was dominated by pastels and a leather cropped biker jacket added an edge.

The collection had something for each and every one of Anastase’s customers, and it certainly had front row guests, Alexa Chung and Roisin Murphy smiling….

Oh and I Ioved the layered strapless maxi dress and the straw hats that popped up! Perfect for those summer barbeques.
