London Fashion Week: SADO

Sado Spring/Summer 2009

SADO presented their Spring/Summer 09 collection this week to much applause. The utterly wearable line had strong influences from tropical art deco Miami with a colourful palette of blues, pinks, salvia green and brick orange.

Combine this with a geometric pattern inspired by the Egyptian pyramids, add a dash of 1950s and 1980s influence, and you can be sure that I was wanting to transport myself to a warm and sunny beach resort, Pina Colada in hand.

SADO experimented with both narrow and wide shapes this season, shown in the variety of pieces that went down the runway. Flowing jumpsuits, floaty dresses, and luxurious kaftans all with geometric pattern detailing juxtaposed with the sleek fitted dresses with bold shoulder sh. Puffball shorts and wide leg 70′s trousers were worn with simple sheer fitted jersey tops creating a look that was sophisticated, yet casual.

The label also showcased accessories this season, with a fabulous hip bag that caught my eye. All in all a thumbs up for this show!

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
