Fashion Forward winners announced!

8th December 2008 1:40 am

bfc-081208The British Fashion Council has put its money where its mouth is by backing Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab and Erdem with its Fashion Forward sponsorship scheme for the second season in a row.

The scheme, which is partly paid for by the London Development Agency and was launched in 2006, means that all three designers will receive funding for their autumn/winter 2009 shows during London Fashion Week next February.

The trio will also receive business mentoring from fashion industry experts to help the designers launch their labels globally.

This will be Kane’s and his business partner and collaborator sister Tammy’s, sixth show at London Fashion Week. Last season he described his styles influences as Folk art, Faberge eggs and Renaissance paintings so we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us next season.

Greek born, London based designer Marios Schwab, is tipped to show another collection of sculpted silhouettes and bold prints. And more of lace lover Erdem Moralioglu looks set to present a collection that’s bang on trend.

We can’t wait! See you on February 20.

About us

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
