New York Fashion Week: Nanette Lepore AW09
Wait a min. What, no eighties looks? No rock chic either? Yes, Nanette Lepore went against the norm that has been NY fashion week and churned out a collection full of bright clashing colours and prints. Patricia Field would have been proud. Was it any good? This really depends on how you like your fashion. If you’re a classic kinda girl then look away now. If you’re a quirky, kooky kinda girl, then keep reading….
The collection was packed with leopard prints, leather skirts and trousers, plaid dresses, tweed cardigans and great paisley dresses. I loved this show. Not only because I actually spotted a UK celebrity – Lorraine Kelly was seated right in front of me! – or even because the music was fab but because it was different and refreshing. The overall styling wasn’t that great but each individual piece was gorgeous and begging to be worn.
