Clothes not money for Yasmin Le Bon

Yasmin Le Bon used to get paid in clothes.

The 44-year-old British model often accepted designer outfits instead of money when she was working in the 80s, but was usually too busy to ever collect them.

She explained: “I often got paid in clothes, but you never had time to pick them up.

“I have a great wardrobe now, but I find it difficult to find clothes for my age – sexy and demure at the same time.”

Yasmin – who is married to Duran Duran singer Simon Le Bon – also admits she used to distract other models and was once left blushing after an overzealous pose ruined a photo shoot.

She told Britain’s InStyle magazine: “I was terrible. I used to talk to people and eyeball them. If a girl I knew was passing, I would smack her butt and throw her off her game.”

“My first show at London Fashion Week, for Roland Klein, is burned in my memory. I did a 360 degree twirl and my huge clip-on earrings flew off. I caught one but the other hit a photographer’s lens.”

Welcome to My Fashion Life!

Launched in 2003 My Fashion Life is one of the UK’s leading top fashion blogs. Recognised for combining all the quality content you’d expect to find in an online magazine with the honest opinion and tone of a blog.

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
