Very informative post. I'm learning more about buying designer womens jeans for myself from reading the info on your website, then I've ever gotten from the advice given to me by my best friend. Now maybe I can stop wearing my BF's jeans all the time ;P. Hope it's ok that I share this post on Mixx?

I love Audrey Hepburn and each of her films. They are classic and still hold up well.

Thank you for some of the kind words about my book, which was indeed a "labor of love". I suspect that your reading of my book was a bit hasty, as I labored for more than love, going to great (what the publisher thought even excessive) lengths to provide exactly what you believe missing - 'fresh insight'. Please consider the post-script discussing the relevance of Audrey's image and affect in relation to feminism and pre-/post-feminism, the introduction which includes abstract discussion of fashion and style at large, and the historical and mutual influences of fashion magazines, film and couture, and the period context of each into which Audrey arrived and caused a sensation. Note the original perspective presented about controversies with Edith Head/Givenchy and husband Ferrer at various points in the chronology. Note also the emphasis on the relevant emotions involved (as revealed from the dozens of interviews gleaned from original research through the vintage magazines and elsewhere) which informed Audrey's film and fashion choices; most significantly Audrey's ambivalence toward fashion and how the timelessness of her style is partially defined by this ambivalence and its causal root in her character, and I ask you, did you really read the book?
