Steep vs Cheap: Cheryl Cole’s National Television Awards dress

26th March 2010 4:10 pm

The awards season might have just finished up but that doesn’t mean we’ve stopped searching for ways to mimic the stars’ glamourous red carpet style. In fact, having just come across this bargain buy from Long Tall Sally, we’re now scouring our diaries for an event that enables us to play dress-up for the evening.

The full-length, high-street dress echoes the look that Cheryl Cole donned back in January at the National Television Awards. Stepping out in a sophisticated, dove grey gown from designer, Stephane Rolland, the nation’s sweetheart wowed onlookers in a low-cut dress from the French Couturier who became Cole’s (or should we say Tweedy’s?) go-to designer during the X Factor live shows last year.

Both dresses – as pictured above – feature a plunging neckline and an embellished and flattering cinched in waist. While Rolland’s dress adds a certain edge with its prominent shoulders, we think we’d rather invest in a classic, unfussy gown that will remain stylish when the power shoulder look is long gone. And the best bit? You don’t have to wear any dodgy, matching cuffs.
