Derek Blasberg confirms Tisci for Dior via Twitter

9th March 2011 8:12 am

It looks as if the gossip surrounding Riccardo Tisci – and whether or not this Italian designer will take the helm at Christian Dior – has just been kicked up a notch, as fashion editor, Derek Blasberg, revealed on Twitter last night that Tisci has definitely been confirmed for Dior.

Whilst backstage at a Katy Perry concert, Blasberg tweeted: “I was just told backstage at the @KatyPerry concert (of all places!) that Riccardo Tisci is CONFIRMED at Dior. I leave #PFW for a second…”

But with Tisci recently stating he was “happy at Givenchy,” the rumours continue to spiral on we’re afraid, with Style.com only adding yet more fire to the billowing flame of uncertainty over Twitter: “Not to add to the Dior rumor mill, but people in Paris are asking, why has the Lanvin team been in tears all day?”

Could the Lanvin director, Alber Elbaz, still be in the running for the coveted scoop at Dior? It’s almost too much gossip for one to handle.
