Love or Hate: Charlotte Olympia Dolly pumps

Charlotte Olympia doesn’t just make shoes; she makes works of art.

Louboutin might do sophisticated and Choo might do sexy, but Miss Olympia has the title when it comes to beautiful.  Her signature pump style has gained her an intimidating celebrity following; Sarah Jessica Parker, Emma Watson, Cheryl Cole and Olivia Palmero, to name a few.

These pastel peach and gold Dolly pumps are signature Olympia. The stiletto heel is bordering on six inches but an ingenious 1.5 inch metallic platform makes them somehow accessible – her shoes are made to be worn, after all.

The creamy peach suede finish gives an unashamedly girly twist to an otherwise fierce shoe, and the Dolly also has a sweet rounded toe which makes a welcome change from the host of pointed stilettos making their way onto the market. They’re what Cinderella would wear on a night out when her slippers need re-heeling.

It’s true that I usually gravitate away from stilettos, preferring a chunky heel or wedge, but for these beauties, I’d make an exception. They add interest and a focal point to slinky black evening dresses and work just as well with chiffon pastel floaty numbers.

They’re bright, breezy and, with summer coming up, it’d be rude not to, right?
