When Princess Beatrice rocked up to Westminster Abbey for the royal wedding wearing that darn-awful oversized beige hat, the world went into a mocking frenzy over the thing. But now it seems the decorative hat is being put to good use.
Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, announced on the Oprah Winfrey show yesterday that her daughter’s hat will now be auctioned on eBay to benefit the children’s charity Unicef, reports the Daily Mail, and with 136,000 fans already on the hat’s very own facebook page, we’re pretty sure plenty of die-hard royalists will be bidding to own this iconic piece of wedding memorabilia.
“I think it’s wonderful that it’s had a reaction, it is just a hat after all, and now it has got its own Facebook page and so many fans,” said the Princess.
“It’s an incredible response to that hat really, I’m glad it provoked so much conversation.”
Just remember guys, all the money raised from this auction goes to a good cause other than our entertainment.
