When news broke in April this year Balmain’s current creative director Christophe Decarnin was leaving the label and would be replaced by unknown designer Olivier Rousteing, the fashion world was left wondering what would happen to the French fashion house.

But it seems all is well at Balmain as news has begun to circulate that the label is launching a new line under a different licensing agreement with Italian company Ittiere SpA, featuring men’s and women’s ready-to-wear clothes.

The diffusion line will be named after Balmain’s founder Pierre Balmain, and will be created in a separate design studio to its main line, but will still be overseen by the label’s new creative director, Olivier Rousteing.

The new range will reportedly be unveiled in September this year, reports Vogue UK.

If we remember, rumours about a lower-priced Balmain collection began to circulate last year but were swiftly shot down. So is this Balmain’s ‘bargain’ line? Will it follow Balmain‘s rock aesthetic? So many questions on a Monday morning.
