Believe it or not, the summer sale season is here. Many department stores are bringing their start date a week earlier than last year and there are lots of bargains to be had.
If you’re a sale shopper, like me, this is great news. I love a good bargain but I know many who can’t bear the scrapping and pushing. An acquaintance of mine won’t do sales. She only has to look at a red ‘further 20% off’ sign and she runs a mile.
If you’re anything like her and only like new-season stuff, now’s the time to look for forthcoming trends.
One of the biggest trends in pre-season collections was the polo neck. Seen on the catwalks of Céline, Burberry and Diane Von Furstenberg, it looks big news for next season.
This Alexander Wang lace knit sweater nails the trend perfectly. There can sometimes be something a bit fuddy-duddy and prissy about polo necks, but this one is edgy and smart at the same time. Made from semi-sheer fine black knit and an inbuilt cropped panel, it’s certainly a lot different to the roll-neck monstrosities your auntie used to wear.
The short round neck and extra long length also make it wearable now with cute cropped short. Love!
