Florence Welch rocks the crowd in her first Gucci tour gown

16th June 2011 12:30 pm

So here it is, the first of many Gucci gowns for Florence Welch now that the luxury label’s officially creating her wardrobe for her North American tour.

And we dare say Frida Giannini captured Florence’s “eccentric style and willingness to dare” rather brilliantly for her first performance on Monday at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

Florence wore a stunning custom gown from Gucci’s autumn/winter 2011 collection, crafted from yellow silk chiffon which looked fabulously floaty on stage, complete with a matching mimosa chiffon cape and ottanio flower organza shrug.

Despite its greenish tint from the blue lights, the dress contrasts perfectly against Florence’s flame mane, and the bold blue embroidered shrug only emphasises her eclectic style.

With 16 cities still left to rock, we can’t wait to see the other designs.

Does Florence Welch wear Gucci well?

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
