The BET Awards on Sunday were filled with stars and their designer frocks, but no one stood out against the green carpet in summery colours like actress Kerry Washington.

Her stunning acid green Michael Kors column dress from the designer’s resort 2012 collection looked beautiful against her dark skin, and the sumptuous silk slinked over her slim figure with effortless elegance.

But what we love most is the thigh-high split – the hottest way to wear floorlength right now – and the slightly plunged neckline, ensuring she looks seriously sexy with a sleek subtleness.

The silver ring halter neck dismissed the need for any sparkly accessories, save for a skinny silver belt and matching mirror clutch for a futuristic summer look.

The customary black Loubotuins were present, and whilst we might have preferred something a little more daring, we can’t fault the red-soled beauties for their classic slick style.
