Lady Gaga celebrates Lady Gaga Day in Taiwan

5th July 2011 10:12 am

It would appear Taiwan is completely obsessed with American pop-star Lady Gaga, so much so, they’ve even named a day after her – ‘Lady Gaga Day,’ in fact.

Ahead of her first gig last night in the East Asian country, many civilians recreated costumes and a full catwalk fashion show to coincide with the promotional trail of her new album ‘Born This Way.’

Hundreds of die-hard Gaga fans took to the catwalk on Sunday in crazy theatrical costumes, all hoping to be one of the lucky 10 finalists to win the chance to meet Gaga backstage before her performance.

All of the 109 entrants put their own stamp on some of Gaga’s most famous stage looks, from her controversial MTV meat dress, to even her sparkler bra – that’s one crazy fashion show we’d have given our right arm to go to!

But the Gaga fever didn’t end there, the city’s government of Greater Taichung even laid on a welcome party for the singing sensation, reports LDNfashion.

It’s nice to know you’re loved, eh?

We love designer fashion, but we love a damn good bargain, too, so while we might lust after Lanvin one minute, we’ll be traipsing to Topshop the next.

You guys are the only reason we get up at 6am to cover the royal wedding and go to bed 5am after the Oscars – we’re dedicated to bringing you the juiciest gossip from the fashion world and delivering the best shopping guides we can muster, because hey, we’re just doing our job. And it’s a good job we love it!
