Last year the preppy style of Mulberry’s Neely bag became so popular it gained sell-out status. Not bad for a successor of the revolutionary Alexa.

This time round, the folks at Mulberry have worked their magic to create the Polly Push Lock. Like the slightly cooler, older cousin of the Neely, it’s slightly more business-like and, and this version with the top handle omits the long shoulder strap for extra sturdiness.

The midnight blue shiny grain leather works well with the style and I love the contrasting chunky tan handles. It also has a large front flap pocket with a signature push lock fob, and is super roomy inside, lined with fabric and navy suede.

Although I’m sure a whole host of cool Brit girls will wear this bag in their day-to-day lives, to me it’s just perfect for work. I mean, let’s face it, have you ever seen a better bag to take to the office? Nope, me neither.

Oh, and did I mention Kate Middleton wore it to kick-start her first official trip to Canada last week? It’s got the royal seal of approval, too.

Polly Puck Lock Tote with Top Handle, £895, available at my-wardrobe.
