Be still our beating hearts – Osman Yousefzada has created a capsule collection of five exquisite dresses exclusively for Selfridges, with each one just as mind blowing as the other.

In keeping with his mainline collection, each dress stays true to Osman’s ethos of chic practicality, complete with bold pop colours to truly get you noticed this summer season.

“I played with a series of pop colours and translated them into easy modern pieces, in my clean architectural cut,” said the designer.

“It’s a perfect capsule: a dress you can take on holiday; a dress for a summer wedding; a dress you can wear two ways; and a siren asymmetrical long dress for lounging at a pool party.”

The dresses come in a range of gorgeous coral, orange, red, navy and pale pink hues – which is quite unusual seeing as Yousefzada’s entire spring/summer 2010 collection was all white – but venturing into the world of colour for his autumn/winter 2011-12 offering has made the designer take a new approach to his fashion.

“The capsule collection for Selfridges is a prelude to my autumn/winter collection, which was inspired by the artist Catherine Yass’ work,” said Osman to Vogue UK.

“It inspired me to use much braver statement colours. I think everybody is ready to wear more colour right now.”

Indeed we are.
